Not a traditional 7 but so effective. Illustrates
My point
About not needing a fetcher. Loved him
As a player. Whole family are
Great for rugby

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Game has changed over the years, I really like a fetcher as turnover ball is great to attack from. Agree it's not essential but when a team has a good fetcher and the other team none it can have a massive effect on game.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Depends how you play both have merits.
I like a genuine 7 but feel if you don't have one or don't have great attacking backs then not needed.
Also if
Like france you have bonnaire and dusatoir then you do not need one as they are so dynamic.
You have bonnaires amazing workrate and dusatoirs insane work rate so lack of fetcher fine.
Ferris does same for Ireland. Such a menace at breakdown and slows everything

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Disagree about Ferris, he is a beast of a player but offers very little at the breakdown and pretty much nothing on the deck. His hard carrying and work rate is sublime though.
For Ireland most of their turnover threat comes from Heaslip & Best, SOB is also pretty effective here (although gets little credit).
Agree not be all having fetcher but Im a massive fan, always have been. Not just on here but watching too.

i think ferris is decent on the deck.
i like a team to have a warburton, mccaw, armitage type. but it isnt essential.

Ferris does massive tackles holds them up and counter rucks
Like a demon so disrupts ball.
Watch ulster and how destructive he is. A wrecking ball and minces
The opposition breakdown just in a different way.
Another person who lords it at breakdown is coonie always 2nd to brussow in steals. Lots of players
Break the mould these days. Brits fielding kicks, croft in wide channels games changing but basics always important.

Yea fair one on Ferris, he offers a lot of power around the fringes.
Hore & BdP are pretty effective here too. Scrums and breakdown are my fav parts of rugby. I sometimes fast forward a poor game and just watch the scrums lol

What I like about scrum and breakdown is each one is
An individual battle.
Last week there
Was a scrum where Ben Robinson smashed owen franks. 2 scrums later franks crucified him for a penalty.
Game within a game.
Loved that leinster turnover to finish the game also

I'm thinking Walkinshaw and possibly Hogg must be doing it. There must be some structure implemented else some players wouldn't come surely?! Although saying that it's a chance for the Championship players and we have had the eye for them recently so fingers crossed.

Not happy with Sale's selection. We aren't guaranteed the 6th place yet. I'd be fuming if we f---ed up. So much so I'd be calling for Diamond's head.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
Sale Sharks may face possible punishment from Premiership Rugby after fielding a weakened but all-English side against Harlequins this Saturday. The Sharks currently sit below the required English Qualified Player (EQP) average of 14 players per 22 for the season, with each club rewarded with £80,000 at the end of the season if they make this figure.
Before Round 22, each club’s average reads like this:
Harlequins 19.42, Gloucester 17.33, Worcester 16.73, Exeter 16.55, Bath 15.75, Saracens 15.23, Northampton 15.10, Newcastle 15, Irish 14.73, Leicester 14.08, Wasps 14.08, Sale 13.33
As a result, Sale have left out many of their best performers this season before facing the league leaders, including number 8 Andy Powell, scrum-half Dwayne Peel and joint top points scorer in the league Nick MacLeod, ruling the him out of picking up the Golden Boot at the end of the season. The move also could have repercussions for the top four, with leaders Harlequins arguably facing an easier task than if Sale were including their foreign stars, as a result leaving little doubt that they will win a home semi-final in the playoffs.
The move is being seen as a gamble by some Sale fans with their Heineken Cup spot for next season not yet 100% guaranteed. A heavy defeat to Harlequins plus a Bath bonus point win at Welford Road may seem unlikely, but the club will be left embarrassed if they fail to get the place. What’s more, the club could face either a Premiership Rugby fine that would cancel out their £80,000 payment from the RFU, or even a points deduction which would threaten their Heineken Cup spot.
What do you make of Sale’s move? Is it the right decision in what will be the final game at Edgeley Park after 9 years? Let us know.

Can't see how the RFU can fine them? Its up to each club to pick their own squad. Similar thing happened to Wolves in the football last year didnt it? Think its ridiculous an organising body trying to dictate what team a club side should play.

It's bullshiote , Sales argument is they are confident of securing 6th place and are using this game to reward players who have trained as hard as the regulars this season and allow them to put a mark down for next season whilst the RFU will accuse them of taking the papiss out of the system.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 Homepage
It was Blackpool SJE. Changed 10 players I think and took on villa, lost 3-2 in the last minute pretty much. A point would have put them on the amount they needed to stay up. Would have needed 2 more goals though but circumstances would have been different.
However Chelsea did similar a few weeks backs against Arsenal starting only 3 of our normal XI and didn't get punished because our back-up includes England Internationals and players like Malouda. Unfair really, the punishment for Blackpool was the relegation and knowing that with a few first team players a draw coulda kept them up

Shouldn't be punished for what team they pick in anyway but on the pitch. If you want to stop full squad rotation it has to be in the rules and not done afetr the incident. Was disgusting how Blackpool and Wolves got done in Premier League.
I think Diamond has tried to be a cleverdick basically. How can someone punish a side for playing 23 EQ players is likely his argument.
He did the same last season at Gloucester regarding a weaker side so don't really see how we can be punished this time round. Putting a lot of confidence on Leicester though.
