The greatest dive you have ever seen?
Instead of the greatest team or the greatest players, how about whose dive was the most ridiculous ever? Ashley Young's was good but Carroll's against Newcastle gets my vote.

Pedersen's against Arsenal a couple of years ago.

Been far worse ones than Carrolls, ones that actually get rewarded are far worse. Eduardos for Arsenal a few years ago was awful, UEFA banned him afterwards but retracted the suspension on appeal

Anyone remember that Robert Pires one years ago? Probably the worst dive I can remember seeing (that got rewarded), nobody was anywhere near him!

Against Villa?
A bit obvious but some of Klinsmann's in his early years were expertly done.

Not really a dive, but I loved Steven Taylor trying to decieve the ref by holding his chest and flooring himself like he'd just suffered a heart attack when he'd actually handled the ball inside the box.

Stevie G for me. He's the best at getting minimal contact and making it look like a certain pen or free kick.
Just look at the Champions League final in 2005.

I can't believe someone actually mentioned this - I was actually going to mention it in jest. Eduardo had just come back from a horrendous injury caused by a horrendous challenge, he jumped out of the way of the challenge (sh!t it a little, but understandably), he didn't appeal, didn't dive just tried to get out of the away. When the penalty was given, much to the perplexment of the players he went up to the ref and told him he was wrong and that it wasn't a pen and the next day a huge witch hunt began saying Eduardo was filthy and should never play in the league again (ignoring the many other players who dived to get pens that same week, including Rooney (twice))

Eduardo dived to win a penalty, simple as. If he was scared to make contact then he shouldn't have played.
Worst one I've seen was actually just this weekend in the Melbourne Storm again, player went to kick the ball, missed and slipped over, claimed a penalty which was given, he then got up and scored it to win them the club

Wasn't a Premiership match, but Alberto Gilardino against Celtic in the Champions League a few years back was nothing short of scandalous.

Rivaldo's was a joke. A real great player but he let himself down on that occasion.

Re: The greatest dive you have ever seen?
When Drogba and Lehmann squared up to each other and then bumped into each other to look like they had been hit. When one fell on the floor, the other looked around and jumped on the floor too (i forget who went first).
Absolutely pathetic but definitely up on there on greatest dives! It was a twofer!

Re: The greatest dive you have ever seen?
At least the South American one shows initiative - he was technically hit in the face by the raised arm of the guy he was marking. OK, so it needed a little persuasion...
The Rivaldo one was a complete disgrace - the failure of FIFA to act on that really showed that they don't give a toss about cheating and playing up to the refs, at least as long as it is a superstar player doing it.
