Game of Thrones
Anyone know anything about this game, the people making it etc, looks a bit like Skyrim. Just heard about it today.

Re: Game of Thrones
always abit dubious about games being brought out simply to cash in on success of a tv series/film. few of the lord of the rings games suffered from this. but being a fan of the books/tv series if its half as indepth as a skyrim could well be worth a buy. got a feeling it wont be anywhere near as good though

I'm hoping theres something good about it, if they allow you to roam a huge world with decent graphics and the game play is half decent i'll be happy enough, not sure if i'll pay 40 bucks for it though.

Looks wise it could basically be a Skyrim clone, that's not a bad thing though.
Chance to play Skyrim and beat the jeebies out of the Lannisters, yes please.

I thought while the environment looked very good, the characters looked poor in comparison. However this video is from last year so I'm sure they've made improvements.

The fact that George Martin himself has been involved in the development and storyline fills me with hope that it could be decent.

i agree that the characters didnt look great, but if martin has been heavily involved then id take a good story line over graphics

Yeah i'm hoping the graphics are improved a little, or a lot. Looked like people from the Playstation 2. But i agree decent gameplay is a must, there will be multiple choice answers during conversations which i always enjoy.

Re: Game of Thrones
I'd hold of on getting to excited and the Skyrim comparisons, the developer Cyanide are hardly known for producing this sort of game let alone anything great.
Don't get me wrong Cyanide have developed some decent enough games like 'Chaos League', 'Blood Bowl' and 'Cycling Manager'. The even developed the RTS 'Game of Thrones: Genesis' game which was actually quite good despite it's poor reviews, more of a slow paced political experience with poor combat. Again though like most Cyanide games it threw up enough problems in he execution department to make what could have been great only interesting, a common theme throughout all their games.
Not the developer I would have chosen, they would have been better giving the projects to Obsidian.

I know, just thought the landscape looked similair. Don't think Bethesda would be too happy. Didn't know Cyanide did the PC game, read the reviews for that they were awful. Hopefully they make a good game as there's only one chance at it.

Game of Thrones:Genesis wasn't as bad as the reviews suggest, it's just a very slow moving game, someone once compared it to a large scale rock/paper/scissors game and they weren't far of. Most reviews were mind boggling stupid in their criticism and seemed to be written by people with ADHD. Yet it still lacked in execution in many areas.
