Probably Youssouf Mulumbu. I like him, but he's never going to get the recognition he deserves and i've just cut my losses on him in releases.

Sold Cabaye + Lucas for a combined fee of £33 million

Got Gerrard, Arteta, Fellaini and Hoolahan for a combined fee of £49 million.

Not bad on my part, still got some of my remaining kitty to spend.

Back up CB anyone Very Happy

I would never have bought Gourcuff and perhaps bought Gustavo or another CB. Or Gylfi.

Having thought about it, I would probs have bought a full team. I think it might have been possible to get the Newcastle starting 11 with the star player budget included.

I wouldnt have gone for so many crappy lower league players like Speroni and Clyne. They arent good enough for this

I'd have bought a right back.
That was quite a glaring omission I recall in the first week and both myself and Gav were scrabbling around for one whilst other people had three of them.

How do people view goalies on these games? I don't really pay too much heed of them, unless they've got a striker in goal or something

I'd like to think they link together with the defence. For example, Bayern Munich and Germany's Neuer with Bayern Munich and Germany's Boateng and Badstuber in defence would be rated higher than just having a good goalkeeper and good defenders who aren't the same nationality or from the same club. As in real life.

I rate goalies on their size if the instruction is something like "catch the ball over everyone else". But surely you'd rate Casillas over... I don't know... Darryl Flahavan?

I think Marky has a point, a cohesive unit works in favour, but what I'm mostly getting at is that a goalie is unlikely to materially change my vote, as say, a goalscorer would.

To an extent I agree, going out and signing Casillas would change some people's votes. But going out and signing Messi would guarantee you wins.

Marek Hamsik - TM value of £21M
Claudio Pizarro - TM value of £5.3M
£3M cash
= £29.3M

for

Jefferson Farfan - TM value of £16M
Lisandro Lopez - TM value of £16.5M
= £32.5M

Yet Viva lives up to his reputation and having said he wanted Farfan and Lopez, then rubbishes my players. I know TM isn't gospel, but it's the basis for the prices in this game, and if Viva wants to trade players he probably needs to offer fair deals rather than heavily one sided deals.

When there was criticism of Viva and Nick I stuck up for them, but Viva you're just being tight/taking the urine and it's no wonder the only deals you've done is with Olly for two loan strikers.

If you're happy with your squad, that's fine, but please stop trying to rip everybody off and cheapening everyone else's players while making your own overvalued. Everyone makes their own players value go up a little, but you go too far IMO.

Even offering Go Ahead Pigeons £5M for Christian Maggio when sodhat further up the page had offered £8.5M is not only disrespectful, but also breaking the 2 week rule of not offering within 20% of the player's value.

Rant over.

I will when I have the money! Gonna save up a bit now for the next season after splashing the cash today. I'm feeling a bit dizzy!

Naughton and Gibbs ain't that bad anyhow, both solid Prem quality FB's with pace to burn Very Happy
