It's actually working really well as the zebra affect, i can't imagine any opposition will be able to pick out one player amongst all the god awful stripes! And imagine all the fans wearing them! Where's the vomit icon?!

Re: New Tigers (Canterbury) kit
Wow, erm. A little Rugby League for my tastes, I think Canterbury might take some time adjusting to the more let's say traditional tastes of the Tigers fans. The green bib to accomodate the sponsor is the main area of horror for me, the Tiger pattern is a bit tacky but in the right theme.
It's still better than the 'platinum' away shirts but leaves quite a bit to be desired. The price is a tad eye watering when you can now pick up this seasons home kit for £20 and the new Euro shirt (worn all of twice?) also for £20 both of which look better. The new away shirts should be interesting...

Canterbury just don't get it do they, it's the same with all their kits, they really have no idea what they're doing. I've heard that Sale have switched over as well, i can only imagine what that will look like...

I really hope you have no insider knowledge on this.
Personally I expect them to swap the white and green round to make a 'light' shirt because green shirts count as 'dark'.

To be fair the the last two away shirts by Cotton Traders ('platinum' and sky blue) have both been hideous. They also have a real problem getting the shirts into the store before the season starts which is just not good enough. In fact the 'platinum' kit was only shown to the fans a week before the start of the season and wasn't available for another month. The best look the fans had of it was the first game of the season!

: retch :
Why has the green gone darker and darker as opposed to the old lime green and why are the stripes equal in width?
Maybe it's easier for the children in third world sweat shops to churn 'em out at 50c-$1 a day. The Tigers shirt is being offered at 80 quid apiece.
In that sense, I'm ashamed of my club especially as Leicester is (was) a hosiery town.

I think the player kit will look "ok" on the players.
Worn by fans however it will look awful. It is that bib more than anything.

Agreed. It just looks awful and seems worse when you think that it's only there so the sponsors names are easier to read. Why is 'CAT' on there twice? They've got their logo big, front and centre, a stand and some diggers at the ground. Is the little logo above the badge really a necessary hint about who the main sponsor is?

Re: New Tigers (Canterbury) kit
The bib is nothing more than an advertising hoarding.
It's a sickening capitulation to the merchandising end of the club..
It's not even as though they need the dosh.
I'm getting concerned that this type of thinking is creating a fat-cat culture in the higher echelons of what is now becoming a bloated management/administrative sector.

Re: New Tigers (Canterbury) kit
Canterbury need to get their act together. In the Glasgow and Scotland strips they've unleashed some of the most rancid rugby kits I've ever seen. Cardiff's isn't great but this is just rotten. I'm not a Leicester fan but I agree this is way too 'rugby league'.
I'd heard England's new kit is to be made by Canterbury. I wonder what they'll be able to do with white, red and black...

I think CAT provide quite an eye watering amount of sponsorship to Tigers actually. Hence why we seem to have tried to build the top around their sodding logo. Tigers is a business and turnover is important.

Re: New Tigers (Canterbury) kit
It will be interesting Sam, when the proposed ground extension for 2015 favours the fans or the corporate/prawn sandwich brigade.
To me, the expectation of fans to pay top dollar for the privilege of wearing a multinational corporate logo is a step too far.
I now understand why the green is so dark - it highlights CATERPILLAR to maximum effect.
That'd make each and every fan to look like a sandwich-board low-end who paid for their own degradation.

Re: New Tigers (Canterbury) kit
Generally the club are pretty good to the fans (they have to be, the fans own it) but at the same time they've got to keep the sponsors happy as they invest quite a lot of money. Holland and Barrett, Goldsmiths and Catepillar all pile in loads of cash so that they can be associated with Tigers. The fans will only pack out the stadium whilst the talent on show warrants it so we need the money to maintain that level of talent.
The ground extension will help as the rent received from the companies who take over the multi storey car park and the hotel/flats will fill the coffers a bit more. Hopefully additional seats will see supply exceed demand and the equilibrium point will fall to a lower price point meaning marginally cheaper tickets but still a packed (but bigger) crowd.

Looking at it again the Tiger stripe one isn't as bad on. The other one is truly awful and does look like Waldrum has a bib on

My opinion that three Kiwis is enough for any team and that NZ sides agree.

I think it looks bigger because of the green bib Nathan. It certainly caught my eye before anything else which was never the same on the old one, I actually thought it was bigger but on closer inspection you are correct. Hmm, I still can't make my mind up, not that I can afford to spend £80 on a replica shirt anyway.

The promo http://www.leicestertigers.com/matchdaytv/?play=media&id=11721 is pathetic. Ii only overemphasises the cat logo and the size of it on the billboard panel, but does nothing to demonstrate the tiger stripes that bond the Leicester fans.
£25 in the pre-Christmas sale
Ten quid in next year's remainder bucket is my guess.

Not a Tigers fan but I actually think the players' one works. The 'classic' one with the normal hoops looks a bit rubbish with the bib effect, but the playing one I really like.

The 'test' shirts are always £80 aren't they. Definitely have been for Quins and the Lions. Still, £65 is a fair bit for the standard replica.

I've stopped buying rugby shirts recently. Considering how prevalent the 'obese stout drinker' is in rugby circles, I think companies like Canterbury should put more effort into their replica kits. This Leicester supporters' one is characteristically gash.

We've all been there. Every club has its turn of vile, marketing rubbish. In a few years time you'll return back to normal. You're not quite rivalling Stade or Bath yet!

Have Glos ever had a poor shirt? I've always thought they've been quite sensible.
Likewise Quins, yes it's loud but actually not too bad and there are never too many changes to it. Only the BG shirts which can be odd, but I also love my original BG shirt.
