Newcastle v Man City...the decider?
Looking at the remaining four fixtures in the title race this has to be the biggie. You'd be hard pressed to see Utd drop points against either Swansea or Sunderland although the Black Cats encounter is the harder game of the two, what with it being away. I can see Utd demolishing Swansea with ease and if they defend like they did against an already relegated Wolves team then I can see Utd getting at least four. If they take the lead up at the Stadium of Light then they'll deal with Sunderland so onto City...
Their last match is a gimme. I don't care how dire QPR's situation is looking going into that they'll be wiped aside no problems.
But the Newcastle match truly intrigues me. The bookmakers have already handed City the title looking at the 1/2 pricing but I'm gonna stick my neck out here and predict that Newcastle will get a result be it a win or a draw. Simply put I envision a Man City slip up here. Newcastle are deserving of a bit more respect going into this match up and poorer sides have already beaten City on their home turf so why can't Newcastle? They are not exactly going to roll over in their last home match of the season and they'll be up for it big time. This is by no means a Banker!!
For the record I couldn't give a toss who wins the league but I'm quite shocked by all the Utd white flag waving I've encountered today. The war is not over yet folks.
Cheers guys.

It's over.
Newcastle have just been absolutely thrashed by Wigan, I was at that game and I'm telling you now - Newcastle have no chance against city.
They have an away game to Chelsea tomorrow, whilst city are rested. City are on a mammoth high after beating united and will have such focus and momentum they will not slip up.
Can actually see Newcastle taking quite a beating from them.
I'd love to be wrong, but I'm not.

FreekShow well said.
Been a long time since we've had something really worthwhile to play for at this stage of the season (apart from winning the Championship and that doesn't really count) so people expecting us to roll over for City just might be in for a surprise.

It's all over because Ent knows what happens already, close the pointless topic. Apparently just because a team loses to another team 4-0 away they can never win there next home game.........

Re: Newcastle v Man City...the decider?
i can see newcastle winning this- basically because this season has been so unpredictable and newcastle are the one team in the prem that completely mirror the prem in unpredictablilty!

This very, very average Newcastle side who have already lost sunday's game against Man City according to Ent are currently 1-0 up at Chelsea and keeping the dream alive.
PDC stunner! Must admit that Howard Webb appointment made me laugh!

Still waiting for Ent to post his latest update on this "very average side" who have "no chance" against City.
Cisse is absolutely unbelievable and will no doubt be causing the City defence a few sleepless nights in the build-up. Absolute nailed on goal of the season (has there been a better N'stle goal since the start of the Premiership?) with his first goal no mean effort either.m

Mancini has bit more options to play with than this average Chelsea team.. Newcastle should be looking to win it, City have done very little away from home.

Ent I've got to hand it to you. At least you stick to your guns but looking forward to your post come Sun aft.
The fact that the team bounced back from an indifferent performance against a much improved Wigan team and got a well deserved 3 points in London shows that not only will we be no pushovers at the weekend but could also burst City's balloon for them.
Expect more of the same and we could be talking about an unbelievable game on football!

Agreed. Citeh are on top of the mountain right now and have had a very good rest in between matches.
Newcastle blow too hot and cold for me, it was only down to a very strong rearguard performance that they got the result against a weakened Chelsea side concenetrating for the FA Cup.
..... But I hope I'm wrong, I'm generally not unfortunately.

all time great have you considered becoming a professional gambler?
did you call the wigan v newcastle game, did you call the chelsea v newcastle game? did you call the blackburn v united game, did you call the chelsea v barca game-I could go on all night.
but if you keep picking odds on bookies favourites you will win more times than not, the good pundit or predicter is the one that can see when the occasional upset happens, however this season there has been more upsets than man u fans in manchester..

Player for player City is a much stronger team than Chelsea and this is like one of the biggest matches in its history. It is for Newcastle too. I have a feeling Kompany will not give Cisse too many sniffs. To me the key man is Yaya Toure. If Mancini frees him up to do what he does best, he could win it for City.

There was definitely a hint of resting players though. Drogba, Lampard, Cole were all not playing. Sturridge played and he hasn't played a lot under Di Matteo, Malouda also played.

Crimey sure they had to rotate their squad and rest certain players but that's why they supposedly have spent such a lot of money putting together a squad that can cope.
The reality is though the FA final is a distraction they could have done without with the pressures of getting into the Champions League. If they are starting to run out of steam now heaven help then when they go to Munich.

Of course Ent is in a good position because as you said City are the best team in the league and are favourites along with having more preparation time. I'm sure if City win, he will be all over these forums like a bad smell but if they don't he'll be going AWOL again.
It's truly a toss up who will win. There so many titanic battles on the pitch that I can't wait to see. Kompany/Cisse, Silva/Tiote, The Argentinian battle of Jonas, Fab, Carlos, Zabaleta & Aguero. Fantastic match ups and a great way to end the season.

QPR still have something to play for a long shot but still a chance and Swansea are experimenting with new formations for next seasion so could be a shot at it

Newcastle's players could have an "after the mayor's show" against City and play somewhat like they did vs Wigan.. City will have had a bit more rest so that should be useful for them. :\

Yer we will either turn up and possibly beat them or it will be a major letdown and we'll probably be 2-0 down after 20 mins or something.

It amazed me how Newcastle were so out of it against Wigan then put in a good shift against a team who was on a high. :por it will be a major letdown and we'll probably be 2-0 down after 20 mins or something.

Yer we've been hit for 5 on numerous occasions including at Fulham and Tottenham and we came back fighting. The media were just waiting for us to 'blow up' especially after those heavy defeats but we've refused to give up. Sensational stuff really.

I'll hardly be crowing if City win as I support united.
AWOL?
Playing over 100 minutes in London isn't great preparation for the game at the weekend.
Good luck to Newcastle, don't think City will give them a sniff.

Re: Newcastle v Man City...the decider?
Man City will give us plenty of 'sniffs'. Just look at City's performances at Chelsea (a), Swansea (a), Everton (a), Arsenal (a). To add to this City were a stinking mess against Sunderland home & away and we haven't even got onto there dire performances away at Napoli or Sporting Lisbon. Don' forget winning the first title is the hardest.
If Cisse get's a sniff, he'll be on it like it's a plate of Yassa.

Love the "Yassa" analogy. Certainly poulet yassa sounds very nice with either cous cous or rice!
To my mind though Cisse reminds me more of one of those spaniel retrievers. You know the one that will run and run, chase everything and then still want to play some more when everyone else and all the other dogs are knackered.
Her has such an infectious positive attitude and seeming innocence of what he actually is achieving. long may it continue.

Well with his conversion rate of attempts on goal vs. goals themselves maybe he should be shooting every time he's somewhere near the half way line!
Seriously his confidence levels must be somewhere up in the clouds by now.

What a result at the Emirates. Arsenal have well and truly shot themselves in the foot, RVP understands there a one-man team and if he is ambitious enough he will quickly realise that leaving this team is his top priority in adding to his medal collection which stands at one F.A Cup.
I think Tottenham are in the box seat now, two winnable games. This 3-3 results gives the extra boost to Newcastle going into tomorrow's huge game. This game is now massive, I hope Newcastle can do themselves justice and don't freeze in the occassion. What a season.

My problem with Newcastle is they may have used up all their luck at Chelsea, don't think Papiss will get the goals like he has been.

I'm gonna miss the game today, gutted. Promised the missus we'd do something for the day a few weeks back completely forgetting about this fixture or the significance of it anyway.
I'm predicting a 2-2 draw with City claiming a lat equalizer. Over and out.
