well it looked like a good safety, but that's a superb pot from Carter, beautifully swerved through a narrow gap, and the frame is surely his now...

it was a brilliant sfaety- sadly sometimes they cost you because the opponent only has a shot on! and thats what happened this time, the player has to 100% commit on the pot- that is just one of them things

you can't fault Carter here. Yes he's played mostly safety first, but he's done so very well, and when he's had to make the pots, he's done so. Maguire never really got anything going out there, lost position too easily on the cue ball.

Neither player was fluent.. Carter just a bit better and deserves his 2 frame lead.

carter played pretty well i think, that table looked almost impossible to start with.

I would like to see Carter in the final but i do believe that Mags would have a better chance of beating Ronnie.

Stevens Carter would be fantastic, i would love to watch that. I really like watching Stevens play, always have and Carter is really proving that he is a top player.

People under rate Matchu Stevens!! He's class. He'll never be a Ronnie, Higgins, MJW but he would have won more had he been a better practicer and not spent his time playing poker lol

I like Stevens too, but him and Carter would just be long frame after long frame. I can see Stevens getting slaughtered, by Ronnie tbh.

If Stevens can reproduce some of the skill from 10 years ago (and he has a little already) he will be no walkover for Ronnie.

it would be the worse final as you say- i love stevens as a player, love his action- but it wouldnt be a big draw final, many would see it as an anti climax

basically there are two big draw players left, and obviously the biggest draw player left.

but i cant see past a ronnie carter final. carter has been mentally superb this week. mags looks vunerable

just because some players are seen as the "big draw" players doesn't automatically mean they will make a quality final. Often it's the surprise players that bring the best snooker to the tournament - take Jamie Jones for example, he's been like a breath of fresh air.

Well yeah it could be a better final- however for a neatral not as big of a draw- surely not hard to work that out is it!

I think that if it was a Stevens and Carter final then there would be more than enough fans from both of them and the general neutral snooker fan will tune in to watch it. Its a World final, doesnt get bigger than that. The world final in itself is a huge draw.

I can't judge the Carter-=Maguire match so far as I was working and never saw it. A 5-3 scoreline though is hardly a match defining session is it? As for this evening a lot will depend on what sort of a start Stevens can get off to and Ronnie as well. Should be very interesting.

I agree with this. I would look forward to that final if it were to be them. I dont really like Ronnie much as a person but have great respect for his talent and Maguire gets Poopie to much

And learned to use the rest a lot more often instead of over-reaching on shots.

Ed, he does seem to over reach alot, he never used too and was very good with the rests.

I think your being over sensitive dreamer. I think my point has been made. This place needs to get abit more balanced from all the ronnie hate. infact you lot are making me stick up for him way more than i normally would
