Ronnie practises harder than Hendry did in his peak, you don't get Ronnie's fluidity by practising half-hearted.

dude- that really is not the case- some players are fast and fluid others arnt- this has no bearing on amount of practise.. The only logic in your argument would be explained that a faster player will pot more balls in a given period of time- therefore practising more in the time frame.

All pros need practise and have put 1000's and 1000's of hours into the game.

Your argument suggests that the slower players have less praciste- it doesnt make sense. Surely you play the game and even at our level you play against quick and slow players, who vary in how much they play.

Reminds me of Andy Murray. Loads of talent but isn't mentally strong which is a shame. I think the previous frame has hurt him badly seeing as he missed an easy pot (for a pro) into the right middle.

Thats the frustrating part in watching Maguire. When in front he plays great stuff, give him some pressure and he is a house of cards in the wind.

He has the perfect gameplan. Frustrating Maguire and taking most of his chances. It's hardly exciting (except for the odd frame) but for some reason I find it decent to watch.

Stephen only made 1 50+ break in the last 6 frames, Carter made 3.

i think they have had 4 each only

Breaks of 91, 65, 118, 65.

Mags:

Breaks of 82, 57, 59, 142.

I wonder why Carter rarely plays that well outside of the Crucible, his safety is more sound than nearly every other player all day long.

i think its down to his new diet to be honest with you. good player, but had to sort himself out. he proberly has way more energy. past ones not so sure, probally just a better big time player

To be fair to Ali, he's had a horrendous year with illness. The Crucible seems to bring out his best but I think he's won in Wales before (not sure), maybe also in China?

I said it last night and I will say it again - if Maguire fails to reach the final this year he will never win the world title.
