First topic message reminder :

I don't mind Paul Walsh at all, there are at least another 5 on the Sky Soccer Saturday that are way worse. Thompson is annoying , Nicolas just as bad, Merson is funny in an are you simple kind of way. George Best used to be worst of the lot.
I always found Graham Taylor's commentary annoying , that was his voice more than anything though.
In athletics Colin Jackson is very poor as is Denise Lewis.

Hope Hearts-Hibbs will be more exciting
Sad that with all that money they have to use an alcohol company to promote it.

Mac .........Sky box ITV London. If you are watchful you can get quite a few games on BBC England as well
The fac up livened up a bit second half but there did not seem to be too much quality about the football to me. Carroll was unlucky not to score twice. Why he was not on for the start defies logic.

Kwinni. I don't think alcohol should be anywhere near sports events and don't get me started on MacDonalds and Cocacola sponsoring the Olympics, talk about selling your sole to the devil. What's next The Dunkin Doughnuts London Marathon?

Who doesn't sponsor the Olympics? It seems every advert on TV at the moment claims a link to them.

Sadly I only have sky go so cant get all the regional channels, although other than champions league I never watch itv anyway.

The tenuous link every product makes to the Olympics is getting very tiresome, while I'm sick to death of the sight of that little poofter Tom Daley at every turn.

A draw would be ok but I would not trust utd's current form to win both games against Swansea and Sunderland.

I guess if you want to see Arsenal in the CL spots then a Newcastle loss would be very useful.

I want Spurs to finish 3rd - apart from Man Utd's purple patch early on, no-one's played better and they got robbed by Man City in the Balotelli fiasco.
Plus Balotelli represents everything that's bad about sport, except his undeniable skill of course.
Any other walk of life he'd be in the slammer by now.

If Mario the individual represents all that is wrong with football do Man City as a club with a blank cheque book also represent all that is wrong with the game. Or is it clubs who act as if they have a blank cheque book that are the issue?

Either way I like the way Arsenal run their club so would like to seem them keep third.

Di you watch any City games Kwini ? They have played way better than Spurs, for most of the season they have played proper football, defended well and attacked well scoring way more goals and conceding fewer than Spurs. Spurs might play pretty football and they haven't even done that for a long while , but to call it better than City ? Not for me that's for sure.
And Mac, for a Man Utd fan to complain about cheque book football is a joke.

The League table doesn't lie so of course City have been more efficient, "played better" should have been expressed played more attractive football, and 'attractive" in the eye of the beholder.
Think Scott Parker ran out of gas after the Ballotelli affair, hasn't been the dynamo he'd been for the previous twelve months.
Oh well.
And, at least Man Utd generate a fair portion of the assets supporting their cheque books, somewhat unlike City and Chelsea of recent years.

But no-one hated cheque book football with clubs living beyond their means than I did when 'Arry was spending fortunes Pompey didn't have.
Not just can't read, but can't add either.

The only time City really slipped was when they lost Toure. With him in the groove they are comfortably IMO the best side in the league and have played some fantastic football beating Man Utd home and away. They deserve the league I reckon.
Spurs are just Spurs, Bale and Van Der Sar have blown hot and cold while Modric has been poor. It's easier to play attractive football when you don't bother defending, it's just not very clever.

Jones has actually gone backwards this year. He will end up at centre back, a more cultured Adams if he's lucky. Whether he has the attributes that made Adams great is still very open to debate. But he's no central midfielder for me, no subtlety to his game at all.
Man Utd need to buy some class in the middle of the park, possibly Tiote for the steel and Eden Hazard for the skill, though rumours are he could be off to City.

Phil Jones when he played for us was superb a real talent and something to base our team around, having seen him play a lot at my beloved Rovers and seeing the chicken mongers cash in on his excellence I'd have to say we did a good deal. He's really gone backwards this term, his positional play and passing have not been of championship winning team material at all.

We've some fine youngsters in our team and I can only hope and pray they find a way to take max points in our last 2 games and someone else has a horror to keep us up or all the young talent will be out the door in a mass exodus and see us struggle to return to the premiership.

That said stay up or go down I think one of the big teams would be mad not to bid on our Junior Hoilet an outstanding youngster and imo would be in the Arsenal team for example ahead of Walcott

Fader,
You should be able to hang on to Lowe and Dunn, and Hanley and Henley (too many towns there), plus of course Good-Willy.
Backbone for a pretty good defence there, cash in on Hoilett, resign Big Sam, and you'll be all set.
Be a shame if the chicken wings downsized the investment in your academy.

Kwini,

I to hope the chicken chasers do not down size our academy as the only positive from this season is our youth players. Hoilett certainly will be cashed in on he's to good to stay and the revenue will help hopefully boost a paper thin squad.

Lowe, Hanely, Dunn and Henley will likely remain I hope at least even though Dunn has not exactly set the place alight this term, looks to be carrying a couple of extra pounds he needs to shift. Goodwilly what an unfortunate name and another that needs to do more to earn his shirt but has potential.

So now were officially relegated, likely to lose players such as the Olesson twins! And Morten Gamst-Pederson who has been a magnificent servant for us, my only hope is the Chicken men grow some and relieve steve kean of his tenure, he is a great coach as a number 2 but is not tactically astyte enough to be the top dog. Proof in the pudding of the game where we had no shots at all not eveb off target ones. Its not his fault though he was put in there by Venkeys and they have never really backed him or added the players he really needs.

Kean strikes me as a decent guy and manager. A good long term bet.
I think he has been badly treated by some pretty obnoxious fans with silly expectations for their club.
I suppose he will go due to the fickle fans but I think they will be making a mistake.
I can see Kean doing well at another club.

Well from the outside if your club loses an experienced PL manager who had never been relegated for many years at Bolton, and replaced with someone with NO managers experience, I think I would understand the aggravation. Very Happy

I think Kean's problem was partly due to his expectations. I heard him say he wants to be in the champions league in a few years. Unrealistic aspirations. That and a pretty hopeless team. I thought Goodwillie might have made a bigger impact but then he did come from a pub league.

I dont condone how he was treated but I fear Keane was clueless when it came to managing a team. He came off as more than a little confused in his post match interviews.

Whoever is responsible, there was no excuse for Blackburn's first-half display last night - they looked as if they couldn't care less except for some spicy challenges from David Dunn.
Better in the 2nd half and should have had a penalty, but just not good enough all season.

Responsibility starts with the absentee owners, but who's going to step in and rescue the Club. How can "Football" say that this is fit and proper ownership? No evidence beforehand, even less now.

To be honest Blackburn have had a fair crack at the Premiership and were due a relegation. Hopefully they can regroup in the Championship and make a challenge to come back up, though its easier said than done.
Ultimately someone has to go down, as long as its not Sunderland I never really mind who the clubs are, its all part of the game.
I actually tend to enjoy the seasons where we get promoted more than most seasons we have had in the Premiership.

Not sure how much faith Id give to McCarthy either as he took us down with an all time low Premiership points total, its not like he hasnt got previous at failing shockingly in the Premiership.
Im please Wigan stayed up as Martinez took the same players who had been losing and changed his system to get results, fair play to him.

Personally I don't blame Kean as stated in my previous post cracking number 2 but imo not yet astute enough at being top dog. He has been hand then poor end of a bad deal from the owners who seem all about cost cutting, what with sacking Allardice and not really bringing in decent replacements for those that have departed.

Martinez is prime example of what a good tactical manager can do with a limited squad which sadly Kean is not but he does have time on his side and could go onto better things and I'm one Blackburn fan that hopes he does and I don't like the way some of our fans protested against him. Imo always back your team no matter what, just hope we can rid ourselves of some overpaid flops and keep the nucleus of good young talent and add some proven Championship players to that list.

Mac, I'm just having a wee look at the Spanish Engineering Competition and its occurred to me how pathetically simple many of the pit crews jobs actually are.
Does someone actually get paid a decent salary to put on a wheel or hold a lollipop in front of the car?
Surely they must do other work to justify a position? Do they do 'roadie' like tasks in between engineering exhibitions?

Super

They we also carry out mechanical and engineering tasks in the cars and other equipment when the race is not on. Of course they will also help pack up the equipment and ready it for shipping, but that seems and odd thing to have an issue with from you?

As always I have no doubt you think it would be easy to improve or that you could do a better job as part of a pit crew but you would be much mistaken. Although I am interested to hear how you think you could knock time off a 3 second pit stop? You should maybe send a CV to Mclaren as they have had an issue or two of late.
