Where would you rate Vidic in a top ten best centreback list now?

I would still rate him in the top 3.
Just because he got injured, doesnt mean his quality would drop.

Imagine Messi gets injured for several months, would his quality drop too?

I'd still have him top 3.
I'd have Kompany 1st, Vidic and Silva perhaps tied at 2nd.

I'd have Vidic number 1 still. As Kam says, just because he got injured doesn't mean he's lost the ability to play football...

Based on Vidic being injured, if he comes back and hasn't lost any of his edge then he'll go right back up.

Notice there was no Badstuber in your list, who has played ahead of Howedes I believe all tournament. Does your list have anything to do with the fact you have both Howedes and Cahill?

Not really been impressed by Pique much, but know he's very highly rated.

Not a Cahill fan as yet but that could change next season.
Only played a handful of games for Chelsea but next season he could start

I dont know why I typed Howedes, I meant Hummels!

Well that explains why, I typed Hummels and Auto-Correct changed it to Howedes as Hummels wasn't saved in my phones memory

Hummels makes more sense but would have him, Cahill or Pique above Vidic/Silva.

I'll admit I haven't seen that much of Silva and Vidic was lowered due to injury. Cahill though is based on my slight obsession with him lol

I used to be the same with Paolo Maldini and still think he is the best defender of all time.

Di Stefano's record is amazing.

Saw Cryuff play and was mesmerised by his coolness on the ball.
Same with Ginola

Special players they truely were.

Cruyff was olny slightly behind Di Stefano for the attacking midfielder role.

Surprised to hear Bale has signed a new contract, although I think it was only a 2-year extension, was it not? That means a hefty pay rise for little promising news for Spurs.

Boring is the wrong word for me. I find it good to watch, all the neat passing and movement. What I do find though, and you probably appreciate this as an Arsenal fan Kam, and that is I get frustrated that having worked a good position, they try more intricate passes to almost walk the ball into the net or create a simple tap in. They should shoot more imo.

I also think that the occasional hoof downfield to an advanced striker is a good tactic from time to time. Keeps the oppostion guessing.

It is a classic British reaction to a successful team (or person). Once someone starts to dominate, the Brits go off them. We love a galant loser here. Probably cos that's what we're good at.

I di like the patient build up but really want to see a whallop at the end of it now and then.

Not opposed to the hoof too but if a team is so good at ball retention then they should play to their strengths. Llorente could solve the 'hoof route' but otherwise it makes sense to pass it from the back.

Loved Ramos' penalty....and they say defenders can't take a crucial pen.

Ronaldo ideally should have gone after the first pen miss to give his team confidence. However, typical Ronaldo wanted the glory pen all to himself
