Barrel's Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub & Restaurant, Luderitz
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has stayed in Africa this week as part of its build up to the Heineken Cup final, and attached itself to Barrels restaurant in Luderitz, Namibia, known for its beer, Eisbein and sing-a-longs.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Simon Danielli, Federico Aramburu and the possibly Auckland-bound Joe Schmidt.

OK, I have taken the plunge. 4 X €75* golden tickets purchased for the Dublin Euro rugby finals next year. *€82 with Ticketsheister add ons.
HC tickets are top tier, on halfway, and on the end of a row.
Ireland is the only 6 Nations country that I haven’t been to for a rugby match.

Hound is that the ones that include the Amlin final too?
Thinking of getting them myself but was going to wait until next week...wonder if that will be too late?

What staggy said rodders.
I'm in block 504 row DD, seats 25-28. The 'Connacht' end is to our right.

I would estimate that they'll be around €50 more.
Category 1 ticket for Heineken Cup Final approx €80 euro
Category 1 ticket for Amlin Cup Final approx €40 euro
Price for a Cat 1 Golden Ticket is €75
Thats my guess

Squad for the Barbarians. It is the actual squad. 24 players named and no Leinster players due to the Pro12 final.
Which means ROG at 10; no Madigan or Sexton.

The Golden includes the Amlin, which is at Thomond?
Thats a good deal but its a bit off a bollix that they're not both held in Dublin.

Re: Barrel's Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub & Restaurant, Luderitz
I assume the two places to be filled may come from Leinster players not involved over the next two weeks.
The returning Roger Wilson and James Downey will have to wait until they get back playing for their respective Provinces before they can influence the selectors.

I'm guessing the back is spot is for Dave Kearney saying Felix Jones and Gavin Duffy (surprisingly) hasn't made the cut.
Geordan Murphy hasn't officially retired either.
The other backrow spot for Ruddock maybe?

No specialist fullback but lots of centres and wingers- could Earls be selected there? My guess at the team. Basically a Munster/Ulster XV.

Re: Barrel's Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub & Restaurant, Luderitz
Notch Earls has said recently that he's no longer happy to play anywhere other than centre, for Munster or Ireland.
It will be interesting to see what happens when BOD returns but Earls was pretty adament that he'll be speaking to Kidney and Penney to say hes not happy about playing on the wing anymore so I doubt he'll play full back either.

Re: Barrel's Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub & Restaurant, Luderitz
He can always go back to Munster if he doesn't like it
I would start Cave at 13 in this game because he's earned a chance to show what he can do even if Earls is still ahead of him in the pecking order. I would still like to see Earls play but I guess if thats his stance he'll have to be on the bench?

Re: Barrel's Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub & Restaurant, Luderitz
All I can say for Earls is that Rhys Priestland took that stance at the Scarlets a couple of seasons back claiming he only wanted to play 10. The result? he got next to no game time. He soon learnt that it was better to be playing, even if it's not in your preferred shirt, for the benefit of the team, as apposed to not playing at all.

Re: Barrel's Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub & Restaurant, Luderitz
See, thats silly. Neither of them is a 12! I thought as much, but it would have to be Earls at 12. Earls may want to be an out and out 13 but Cave is a specialist. Earls should be grateful for the versatility that makes him an instant pick in extended squads. Cave, who can't cover any other position but excels in one, will find it harder to get gametime.

Just saying Notch...besides that was how they lined out together at underage level.
Dreamer I agree but when you are the lovechild of the National coach then you can get away with these things.....

Thats true. It could be worth looking at that again. Still means Earls would be playing at a position other than 13!

Speaking of no brain.... ...eh....I sort of forgot to give your flegs to Rava earlier Rodders.
Sorry!
If it's any consolation we will be either waving them or have them flying in the garden on Saturday. Unless you are going to be about Belfast between now and leaving for the match.

Really sorry.
My bro in law has taken 2 of our flegs with him and the rest we will hopefully have festooned around the garden. Couldn't believe we forgot to put them in the car!
I blame Rava!

I am looking at the seats shown as available for HC 2013 via that email from TM but am not too impressed with the quality - think I might need oxygen and binoculars! Although they are right on the halfway line, right enough. Hmmmm. Will I, won't I??? Need to speak to Himself first.

Puma, I hope to get a few more tickets via that deal because others don't seem to be able to access it. Got to get in now for these tickets because of the capacity and likely demand.
I've been up in the top tier (and right in the corner) at Twickenham. Lansdowne will be nae bother . Anyway, I anticipate Dublin being a real hoot next year.
