Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence

So pull up a chair....what'll it be? appletini

My other post got lost when the other thread locked. I think I said:

Risca - I'll be in work too for that homecoming unfortunately. I hope he has a great welcome though, he thoroughly deserves it.

Prop - good luck with moving if it happens. cider I might have to look at moving on again myself next year.

Howya Gibbo - back on the mend? guinness

Getting towards the final planning stage for the SB, so those who ain't already declared, please make yerselves known on FB.Looks like around 60+ for the party, but for those who wish to arrive/depart before/after, no problemo, as we don't say round here.

Was hopeful of a Welsh stage win in the TdF today, but it gets steeper and steeper.

Any news of the European club competition draws yet, or are we going to have to sort your French visits in August?

Mick Chef , I'm not on FaceAche but will be there with the usual muck savages (family) in attendance - hope that's ok? You must tell me what provisions you'd like us to bring over? (ie usual gallon jar of marmite, etc.) Really looking forward to it RedWine

I suspect a lot of people will be working Tuesday.

The Beeb say McIlroy carded a steady opening round score, yet he's on +1 and six off the leader. Not too steady really surely? Where's somebody like Penfro who might have watched it?

Cari, they only do a parade before a final (provincial and national) so you won't see one. But everything else will be in place. All my mates are going too so there will be a big gang of us going, probably a sing song in the pub after too if you fancy that? Smile

Huh? No parade? Do the lads still stand to attention in front of The Hill or is that reserved for special occasions too? Wait a minute...my visit IS a special occasion...it's a bleedin' state visit! I'm going to throw Welsh cakes at Bernard...

All your mates? Cool...I don't think I'll be singing tho...I don't want to dispel the positive stereotype of the Welsh being great singers Wink

They warm up and stand to attention for the national anthem facing the hill. It's powerful stuff!

Ah I think they just want to go to a pub with a bit of live music and shout along with the singer. Theres usually a great buzz about town after a game so the pubs would have a really good atmos.

To up your game do you not have to have played some type of game in the first place? From what I saw the Wexford full back won that game for the Dubs. Wink

Sounds like McIlroy had a bad start in the first few holes and then played solid. Six shots off the lead however. Will be interesting to see if he can get back among the contenders, how he copes with that.

Didn't really expect him to win this one before it started. Clarke and McDowell are up there atm, -2. Fingers crossed for those boys.

Yes, the hype that surrounds McIlroy is massive. Everyone has gone a bit overboard. Media love him.

And that's after he shot 71 Thom! Imagine what it would be like if he was leading the pack.
