England Squad Euro 2012
England squad for Euro 2012:
Goalkeepers: Joe Hart (Man City), Rob Green (West Ham), John Ruddy (Norwich)
Defenders: Glen Johnson (Liverpool), Phil Jones (Man United), John Terry (Chelsea), Joleon Lescott (Man City), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Leighton Baines (Everton)
Midfielders: Theo Walcott (Arsenal), Stewart Downing (Liverpool), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Gareth Barry (Man City), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Scott Parker (Tottenham), Ashley Young (Man United), James Milner (Man City)
Forwards: Wayne Rooney (Man United), Danny Welbeck (Man United), Andy Carroll (Liverpool), Jermain Defoe (Tottenham)
Standby players: Jack Butland (Birmingham City), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Adam Johnson (Manchester City), Daniel Sturridge (Chelsea).
Could someone explain to me the following:
John Terry not Ferdinand - Terry racially abused Rio's brother. Under investigation. Joke.
Stuart Downing - Had 76 shots in the PL, scored 0. No assists as well. Why is he coming?
Andy Carrol - Thomas Vermaelen has scored more in the PL, along with Helguson, Bale, Sinclair, Klasnic, Berbatov, Zamora, Holt, Crouch, Di Sancto, Yakubu.....the list goes on, so why is he playing?!?
James Milner - Wow. Just simply wow. No idea how he has made it ahead of Carrick/Lennon/Sinclair etc.
Henderson on Standby - How? Why? Whas has he done?
Predicitons:
World will backlash against Carroll. England to finish 3rd in group stage. Will lose against France and Sweden the spank Ukraine 3-0 with Rooney Scoring a hat-trick. Media will then blame Rooney as it is his fault. Manager will be sacked. Carrol will sign for Port Vale in league one and finish 78th top scorer behind his entire team and manager.
Ridiculous

Ferdinand has a bad back and may not be able to play two games in succession.
Downing has a left foot.
Carroll isn't that bad and could cause mayhem.
Milner? I would have preferred Walcott.
Henderson is an odd one. Carrick would have been a better bet.

Re: England Squad Euro 2012
tired of seeing walcott played on the wing when he is clearly a striker
if rio is injured then fair enough. hodgson on about picking players on form, downing was player of the year wasnt he?
id have picked holt ahead of carroll and certainly wouldnt have taken defoe (and im a spurs fan)
why hasnt adam johnson been picked? his left is absolutely deadly! i also would of taken lennon but fair enough, chamberlain is a beast. he said he picked jones over richards. again wrong decision. glen johnson is obviously very very dangerous going forward, but at the end of the day he is a defender and imo, not good enough.

Bizarre squad, overloaded with midfielders for some reason in order to bring Johnson and other useless players.
Why the need for a utility player with so many midfielders, only 4 strikers with Rooney suspended for 2 games?
Hard to believe it really.

Young and a.nother will no doubt push forward to play near the lone striker, so four should be enough.

Re: England Squad Euro 2012
Can't believe Downing made the squad. He has it in his locker but squads should be based on form not potential. I can see why Carroll has been included as he has improved immensely as of late and looks like the player of old. Defoe's inclusion is a bit of a joke for me! Like for like Sturridge should well have got nod over him. Richards is a glaring omission for me, especially with Walker being injured and the fact the Johnson and Hodgson dont get along. He didn’t even play him at Liverpool!
At least the whole country now can feel how Liverpool fans felt during his tenure

Walcott can play as a striker. Young could play in behind a main centre forward.
