I wonder what colour scheme the Ospreys shirt will be this year. We've had gold for Maesteg, purple for i forget why (special reason i think) and blue for Bridgend. Maybe a touch of red for Aberavon this year?

Yup and formed by a an Osprey and a Scarlet dragon - it could be managed by Buck Rodgers, but I suppose at least it would have Comfort In sound...

Come on if you have won that much then surely you don't need to count being runners up as an achievement.
* The Scarlets have runners up in the celtic cup (04-05?), and powergen cup (05-07?) to add to their achievments.

Scarlets have been HEC semi finalists twice. Once after an unbeaten run to the semis.

Beaten semi-finalist are runners up to the runners up, so really nothing to brag about.

It was the unbeaten run that was most impressive

How about plenty of white? They were the Neath - Swansea Ospreys, after all.

I thought that was more of a 'brown' and 'green' hue

I would like to see black and white stripes, but white seems to be the alternative colours.

Black base, then large white hoops, with smaller purple, red and blue hoop. A bit like Leicester with Green base, larger white hoops, and little red hoops in the past.

gowales wrote:That's my worry, they are hoping that they will develop into good players instead of knowing. Who knows in a few years they may discard both Morgan and Walker for not being good enough like they have done with Phillips and Prydie and be back to square one. When will it end?
Fantastic initiatives by the Ospreys to help encourage players outside their own squad.
This is the kind of work welsh rugby needs to build the skill levels and fitness of a nations rugby players and not just one team.
Brilliant news

Young Ospreylians at work in the gym in Ystradgynlais
The Ospreys are leaving no stone unturned as they identify future talent in an extensive programme over the coming months.
Players who have just missed out on Ospreys selection at U16's during the summer period are being given a second bite of the cherry by taking part in a programme where they can develop their skills, knowledge and physical attributes.
For hopefuls in the Afan Nedd district, the programme started on Monday 2nd July, running for a four week period until the final activity day at Margam Park on Wednesday 1st August where the players will have an opportunity to experience Judo, Orienteering, Mountain Biking, Nordic Walking, Wind Surfing, Canoeing and Archery.
During this period there will be training at Gnoll Park on a Monday which focuses on endurance, skill development and individual unit skills. At Aberavon Beach on a Wednesday, speed and beach rugby is the focus. Finally at Ystradgynlais on a Saturday morning, body management, lifting technique, nutrition and circuit training are the elements involved.
These players will then make up the District Schools squads at U15 and the Afan Nedd District squad at U16's for the coming season.
"The programme also allows age grade coaches within the region an opportunity to identify talented players who may have been initially missed or who have developed at a later stage," said Andrew Thomas, Player Development Officer for the Afan Nedd District.
"These players then have an opportunity of representing the region at U16, U18 and or U20 Level."
This system is also replicated in Bridgend and Swansea District at U16's and U19's level which ensures that there is always a talent identification pathway in place within the region.
Thomas added:
"This development system ensures that the door is always left open for young emerging players within the Ospreys region."
