Tipp leading 0-3 to 0-1 early on. Playing really well and defending like hounds

Kerry misfiring badly.
I expect them to come through this and I expect them to be better when they play Cork. The game should stand to them and it is a game I wish we were having tbh. Knocking the championship rust off is no bad thing.

So there is!Leinstershire Vs Ospreysville.
Kerry lead by 9 points to 6 at HT.Kerry driving at Tipp produces scores.........but they are doing it sparingly. Odd

Tipp had an easy free to make it a 1 point game. Missed it. Then a couple of handy frees up the other end and Kerry are 4 points up.

Kerry pulled away a bit as expected. Leinster is on RTE2/TG4 .Hurling on RTE 1.

Young Shane Dowling was sensational as a u-21 last year. He is only 19 but has put his stamp on this game scoring all 4 of Limericks points so far.
One an absolute monster point from half way off his left side..
0-4 to 0-2
13 minutes.
Sun shining.....hurling in Thurles.....lovely.

Goal, Pa Burke.
very simple pass from Brian O'Meara after John O'Brien won the ball and slipped it to him then a low, hard, angled drive. A nice goal
1-4 to 0-7

Goal, Graham Mulcahy.
After an amazing save from Mulcahy the ball broke to the wing. Hooked back in. Mulcahy lifted it, danced around Padraig Maher and blasted home.
1-8 to 0-4
Tipp respond with two great scores.
Great game so far. Limerick the better side.

1-9 to 1-8 HT
Tipp very much back into it over the last 7-8 minutes. John O'Brien winning serious ball for Tipp. about the only one to show throughout.

Eoin Kelly had his head practically ripped off twice and the ref gave nothing. He got subbed off for his troubles. He hasn't been good and looks a touch rotund.
limerick lead by 4 and are well worth it.

Tipp point up, O'Meara gets one. How many steps did he take though?

Tipp take over almost completely. Seamus Callinan misses a goal opportunity.
Up the other end Dowling sets up a score with no caman.
Limerick fouling close in handing easy scores to Tipp. It has to be tiredness
2 point game
GOAL
Scrappy stuff. I thought Limerick had it cleared.

Did Limerick throw it away or did Tipp take it away from them?
I think a bit of both.
I feel for Limerick, but that was a great game.

A 12/13 point turnaround for Tipp. They showed good character and now they must play as a team and not a team of individuals.
Brendan Maher is a bit out of sorts though.

It is a 20 man game these days, no question of that.
That is the second time that Limerick have ran out of steam. They did it against Clare in the league too.
That was the best and worst of Tipp on display there. That will stand to them.

The big question now for Limerick is can they improve on yesterday. Some great individual performances. It will be interesting to see how we get on in the qualifiers. It's time for this team to stand up and beat a Galway or a Cork.....................

Re: Live Scores- 27/05/12 Thurles Double Header
Unfortunately some of the Tipp footballers will disappear to the US for the summer now and not be available for the qualifiers. For teams like Tipp, they should forget about Munster and focus on the qualifers. A good run there could do wonders for their confidence, because Tipp are not a bad team, not Kerry, but....., now they will have to do it without some of their best players. I don't know how management can stop this disappearing act, but it must be stopped somehow.
As for the Tipp hurlers, great performance. I really didn't think they had the mental strength they displayed yesterday, but they did and I'm well pleased. Seems like the rumours of Tipp's demise may be a little premature after all.
I see in yesterday's paper that Eddie Brennan (Kilkenny) put Cork at No 3, and above them Galway. No mention of Tipp. Bitter little git.

I though Limerick looked a little unfit over the last 20 minutes, though I suppose all the hasstling and harrying of Tipp took it's toll.

BM,
Limerick had put a lot in at the 55 minute mark and with it being a hott day, it was tough to keep going. Having said that, Tipp were working just as hard so you have to look at why they fell off the pace...........fitness no, mentally they dipped a bit id say..............
