Pre-season games
Last season, Edinburgh only had two warm-up games and I feel were underprepared for the season hence why they were, well, guff in the Robocop.
Given that all the home nations are touring, what do you think is the best number of warm-up games without killing the players?

Re: Pre-season games
There is normally only space for 2 weekend games, the Ospreys had 2 this season, 1 in Lyon, 1 against Russia.
The Dragons also had 2, 1 against Leeds and 1 against Russia.
I think it's the same for everyone.

Re: Pre-season games
Dragons have 3 this time
Home v Gwent Select
Away v TBC
Home v London Irish
I quite like that setup to be honest. Two is maybe not the best, given the players that need to be looked at.

Re: Pre-season games
Exeter Chiefs normally manage 3 and I believe we're taking on 3 this season. We have Connacht and Cornish Pirates at Sandy Park and Glasgow (I think) away
Re: Pre-season games
Munster have a terrible preseason.
- Bristol
- London Irish
Both at home. What is that going to teach us. And they are hardly marquee teams to bring to Munster.
Honestly even the blooming Dragons have a better line up than we do.

Re: Pre-season games
Tigers normally have three or four and look for the whole squad to get some game time, normally with some experimentation involved. Previously there has been a tour to France and one or two games over there then the usual Notts friendly at Meadow Lane followed by a money spinner at Welford Rd. This year they are heading to Hull and Jersey as opposed to France so will be interesting to see how that goes.

But hopefully the money-spinner side won't be an Irish one as the IRFU send over shadow sides. Bollix to em.
Ospreys?

Re: Pre-season games
The team Leinster put out for a kicking a couple of seasons back at Welford Rd. It's not a bad side but neither was it close to their first team.
