I think Modric is very overrated personally. Just don't see the world class in him, I mean he went 4 months in the middle of the season without an assist or a goal. Not good for a creative midfielder.

Very good deal for United for me.

Modric is one of those players that if you know nothing about football, only watch the ball and nothing else, you think he is overrated.

His ability in the deep midfield role of dictating play, and orchestrating the attacking players is unmatched in the Premier League. He should score more goals, but other than that, I find no fault.

Another year gone from his contract. The price is rumoured to be £30m with £25m up front and the rest is performance related. I have heard that it is more or less a done deal tbh.

I started to write that the only one better at that role is Xavi, but took it out as I had to do something else quickly.

Mighty Kagawa can play higher up the pitch and Modric can player deeper controlling the midfield like Scholes does. Its all good having an attacking player but we need someone who can supply them and Modric would be perfect.

No Olly Scholes has signed a 1 year contract probably be his final season for United.

I would love us to bring in Modric and Felliani and a striker.

I agree with this. Modric and Kagawa are completely different players. It would be like saying Spurs can't play VDV and Modric together.

Kagawa cannot play the deeper role, he is only effective further forward behind a lone striker or on the wing.

On Huntelaar, he was the main man in qualifying, but the implication from the dutch is that they will revert to one striker, which will probably see Huntelaar on the bench.

He's hardworking but he would be wasted completely in a deeper role and we'd be swamped completely as he averages 1 tackle per game.

So people I have a question for you. Will RVP leave Arsenal this summer?

I have always thought that he will leave Arsenal this summer, and if he was going to stay I would have got his contract sorted before the Euros

Words from my mouth.

He does work hard, but only in the attacking third. He will play behind a lone striker, or on the wings, but it would be risky to put him in CM in a 4-4-2.

The most similar player I can think of in terms on position is VDV

I would say he's waiting to see firstly who Arsenal bring in, Podolski is a good sign but they need to continue with the signings (M'Vila etc)
I'd also speculate that he's waiting to see actually who comes in for him and who else is being moved around. No point in joining Real etc if Higuiain and Benzema are both still there, but if Higuiain moves onto PSG then he might have more game time.
He comes across as someone that isn't moving for money but to actually win something as a move now would be pretty much his last big chance so the likes of Malaga or Anzhi I'd rule out.

Will Man U use the 606v2 favourite formation of 4-2-3-1 then. Something like this:

--------------------De Gea-------------------
Smalling---------Ferdinand------Vidic------Evra
-------------Carrick--------Scholes------------
Welbeck------------Kagawa-------------Young
--------------------Rooney-------------------

Players might be different (Valencia for Welbeck, and a better CDM than Scholes), but something along those lines?

Fellaini is a very good player we need someone like him in midfield we get bullied too often and physically we can't compete with teams not only is Fellaini good in that role he is good with the ball which would fit us perfectly. Fletcher would have been our man in that role but I don't know when or if he will be back.

Realistically I can't see us signing both Modric and Felliani we probably won't sign either.

His wife has said frequently that they are settled in London

It may not be a big factor in terms of his career, but if it isn't about money then it's entirely possible he stays

Chris Hughton is going on holiday for a week, but is going to watch all of our games from last season while there! That is not a holiday!

Also on RVP, he is what 28, 29 now? And what does he have in terms of trophies? A FA Cup winners medal. That's it. Now I think he has the money to be set up for life. What will he want now trophies/medals

And a Champions League runners-up medal, come to think of it.

Maybe he will want to win things but that might not be the be all and end all for him - he may value the Arsenal captaincy and his family's happiness too.

After 30 calls (Some of them threatening) 20 odd tweets I will finally be getting my phone today. Very Happy

I am on such a high right now.

I don't want anything for him. I don't want to sell him. The post says that. I am not going to quote a price.

What is it about the Pizza Hut Buffet that makes you eat more than you want to?

£5.99 all you can eat, means you have to get value for money!

I find that with anywhere where it is all you can eat. I end up having to sit for 20 mins after the meal for fear I could puke

Did get a touch ahead of myself (twitter does that), he said he's 'going' to rather than he's already signed.
