Arsenal > Norwich
Aston Villa > Norwich (now they have Lambert and will probably have Holt)
Chelsea > Norwich
Everton > Norwich

QPR > Norwich (now Mark Hughes has a chance to get his own players in)
Reading > Norwich (Momentum)
Southampton > Norwich (Momentum)
Stoke > Norwich
Sunderland > Norwich
Swansea = Norwich
Spurs > Norwich
West Brom > Norwich
West Ham > Norwich
Wigan = Norwich
Can you argue it Olly?
I think Swansea > Norwich, but again they will struggle more this season. Wigan I wasn't sure about. It is close.
I hope Stoke have a stinker, just so that we see the back of Pulis

When Wigan 1st came up i didn't think they would still be in the Premier League now but with the right management at the club they've established themselves pretty well.

Genuine opinion...
Bad appointment IMO. I think you could have got better.
I think all three teams that have come up are worse than those who went down, so it will be harder next season.
I would say that atm, QPR are worse than Norwich, whilst Southampton and Reading are on a par. However, all three teams have more resources to improve.
Where do people see West Ham finishing this year (without fishing...!)?
I reckon anywhere between 12th and 17th. Relegation is always possible but I do think there are worse sides than us this season.
That seems a fair assessment, but then I also would have said there were worse sides that stayed up, when you went down.
You really need a better striker, or for Maynard to come good and realise his potential.

My personal opinion at this moment in time as to who will go down is this.
18th - Wigan
19th - Swansea
20th - Reading
All subject to change over the summer due to transfers etc

I'm not sold on Maynard as a Prem level striker yet - and I don't think he'll be starting many.
I like our CBs in Reid and Tomkins and I like the midfield we have (Nolan, Noble, Collison, Taylor, O Neil etc) but you're right about strikers and we desperately need full backs too. We almost blew the Play Off final because of it and McCartney was sadly on loan only.

Real Madrid has debts of €589m (£477m), while Barcelona's stands at €578m (£473m) and Atletico's is €514m (£420m). Valencia have sold star players like David Villa, David Silva and Juan Mata to drop its own debt to €382m (£312m).
Is Spanish Football to blame for the Spanish debt problems?

Most of the spine of your team is good enough - Green, Reid, Tomkins, Noble, Nolan and Collison. Cole is okay, but you could do with better.
I watched Maynard for Bristol City whilst he was there (I work around the corner). The potential was there, but even in his last season for Bristol City, he didn't look the same player as before his injuries. He lacked the confidence.
It could still happen for him, but you cannot afford to wait and see. You should sign Holt

My boss is a Bristol City fan and he has said the same to me - it's all there, he just needs to get on a run.
I don't see why we signed him if we intend to play the way we do all next season too. Vaz Te fits perfectly, as does Cole and as would Holt (although I would question Holt>Cole); but Maynard can't play up front alone as Sam favours, and he is wasted on the wing.

I still don't think he will Sodhat. I think it is a bit like the situation Man Utd had with Rooney a year or two ago (on a much much smaller scale in terms of money).

But with a much larger potential market for him. Realistically Rooney had 3 or 4 clubs worldwide that could take him. Holt has many more than that I'm sure.

West Ham, Villa, Sunderland who else would realistically want/be able to get Holt?

Maynard was always at his best when he had a big man alongside him, like Adebola and Stead. But he isn't a wide man, so it needs to be as part of a two man front line.
Holt will end up at Villa, I agree, although Holt is the best example of someone playing well above themselves. He will not repeat last season IMO. He is a modern day Michael Ricketts.

Allardyce's stock formation doesn't really accomodate that I don't think - he's cautious about any formation other than 4-5-1 and Maynard usually played on the right of the three, but next year I think it's more likely Vaz Te on the right and Taylor left.
Michael Ricketts
He'll always have his England cap vs Holland though.

Everton were mentioned too although I see your point in terms of clubs wanting him. I guess my point was that realistically a transfer for Rooney was always much less likely than it is for Holt in terms of cost and suitors (no one really knew who would bid for Rooney if he was available).

Yeah I see that. Man City would have gone for Rooney I reckon. Anyway I really hope he stays, I would be more disappointed if he left than Lambert leaving. We as Norwich fans always knew Lambert would leave as soon as a big enough club (in his mind) came in for him. Holt however I could see being here for another 2-3 years yet.

They have Jelavic they dont need a one hit wonder.
Is it me or does Jelavic time his runs to the near post beautifully, I noticed him do it against United and our defence couldn't get near him because they were executed brilliantaly. Watched him to it for Everton and Croatia after that.

Jelavic is a very canny player. He was like that at Carrow Road as well, all runs were timed very well and whenever a cross came in he would be able to lose his marker easily. Plus he is a born finisher

I'm not so up on Everton matters but if Jelavic goes down, who steps in? Anichebe when he is fit?
I'd think Holt could be a good addition for Everton.

That is our big problem. We need cover for Jelavic. At the moment, the best alternative would actually be Fellaini or Vellios!!
I cannot see Moyes signing a 31 year old though.
Jelavic has two attributes that set him miles above any other striker Everton have had since the days on Lineker and Sharp. His movement is unbelievable, defenders don't seem to be able to follow him, and then his finishing is superb. Most of his goals are taken with a single touch.
With Olic injured, Jelavic is decent value ew shout for top scorer at the Euros

He was a cult hero and I think most fans would have wanted him back.
But they were asking £5m and we need to spend our money wisely on a striker who will actually score when he plays, rather than run around a lot

He was quite good to be fair for his first season dominated most defenders and puts in one hell of a shift in was unlucky with goal scoring but created space/chances for others also he's better then anichebe

Is Anichebe still at Everton, or is he even fit anymore?
He seemed to have a knack of getting goals when I watched him play. Hell of a presence too.
How about Michael Owen on a free Afro - boyhood Evertonian

He is still there, but I wouldn't want to rely on him to score us goals. I think this season is make or break for him. if he doesn't kick on and show improvement, he will be sold.
I can see Michael Owen signing for us. He's a free transfer, so will be attractive to Moyes. Same for Rodallega.

I heard the reason the Norwich press conference was so late was because John Terry couldn't find his yellow tie

Morning one and all
Which of these do you think is the best deal (I'm Schalke, the other person is Newcastle)
Howedes = Coloccini + Cabaye?
OR
Howedes = £15m + Coloccini
OR
Papadopoulas = Coloccini + £3m
