Who Will be Top GoalScorer at Euro 2012?

As title says. Despite missing the first two games, I'm going to say Rooney!

Gone for Benzema as he is in good form and I can see him getting 3 goals in the group stage which is always a big bonus.

The other major contenders have pretty tight groups imo.

I can't believe someone voted for Mario 'the Donkey' Gomez. Danny Welbeck did take his goal well the other day but apart from that he wasn't in the game at all.

its all about taking your chances- if you only have one and you take it- what else can you do?

Mario 'the donkey' Gomez has scored 90 goals in the past two seasons, only Messi and Ronaldo in Europe have a better record.

I went for Gomez. Germany could well make the final and the more games...........

Ashley Young will be top goalscorer

As an outside chance I can see maybe Payluchenko or Kerzakhov scoring a few in the group and they should make the QF's with ease. Semi's & Finals are tight affairs so the group games will be the main scoring opportunities.

On the other hand Benzema looks bang in form if your going for a more realistic winner.

Kerzakhov is certainly a good outside bet, Russia bang in form and they're in a very winnable group.

If Gerd Muller was suspended for the first 2 games I would not vote for him. So how can anyone vote for Rooney? He might only be playing in 1 game.

England would need to attack more to have the top goal scorer. I don't think Roy's team will be creating a lot of chances going by how they have played recently.

I went for Gomez. Have no idea why someone mentioned earlier that he is a "Donkey" when he is the 3rd highest goalscorer in Europe behind Messi and Ronaldo. Bit bizzarre. He is proven at international level, and Germany ALWAYS do well in big tournaments so i expect them to get as far as the Semi Finals.

Andy Carroll at 50/1? Should have been about 10000/1. The guy couldnt score even if you paid him.......hang on......£80k per week? Never mind eh!

Englands top scorer would have probably been Peter Crouch if he had have been picked and played.

Agree on that, people moan about Rio but Crouchy has always performed for England.

How come Carroll is ranging from 50/1 to 75/1 on here, and all I can find for Ashley Young is 66. I was hoping for something a bit higher for Young.

I'm going for Torres. Can just see him banging in 7 or 8 goals for Spain after such a goal drought in the season!!! He seemed to know where his mojo was at the end of the season and I think he will re-discover his form this summer.

Gomez is a real confidence player and he had some shockers for Bayern towards the end of the season...I wouldn't be surprised if he's on the bench

Similar to when people label Ibra a donkey, probably watch them about once a season and base they're views on that. Gomez is the top centre forward in Europe, he's maybe not the most skillful, but his finishing is superb. The goals yesterday were excellent.

He's certainly showing his class.

But, he had a poor Euro 2008, and in the semi-final games and the final of the Champions League fluffed his lines a few times.

Ibra has failed to show his class at the top a number of times. He is very good but not up theree with the best. Gomez is a good goalscorer but I remember reading something that scored 1 in 4 chances. Is that a good finisher?

Ibrahimovic is obviously talented, he's had a great record wherever he's been, even at Barcelona where he clearly didn't fit in he still scored 21 goals and got 13 assists which isn't bad. What is disappointing is that he isn't a big game player, he completely goes missing, and at a top club you can't have your main striker go missing when you really need him. His record against English clubs was particularly poor until the Arsenal game last season, I think that's the first time he's ever scored against an English club (he got a hattrick.)

A poor striker doesn't even get into decent positions to score. I'd go on his goals not his misses.

I think he is. I don't think he's a natural finisher though unlike say Van Persie, who despite his recent poor form, is a natural finisher. Gomez often seems to over-think when he gets into good positions, although he took his two goals against Holland very well and very naturally.

Wayne Rooney has a lot of scoring to do in that one game he'll have before the inevitable red card if he is to be the top scorer.

I don't know if he is the conversion rate wouldn't suggest he is that great a finisher. He took his goals well yesterday although Steklenburg was poor for the 2nd.

He's a good finisher but not a great one, imo.

Stats can be misleading. Maybe he shoots from outside the box a lot? He's certainly better than he was four years ago, that's for sure.

gotta suggest that as the no.1 striker at barcelona that isnt actually that great a stat. possibly only worth half that in the prem even in a good team that creates alot of chances

I'm sure although don't quote me on this he had one of the most efficient shots to goal ratio's in Europe last season. Purely as a centre forward it's hard to have a dig at a guy who scores over 40 goals for club and 13 in his last 16 for his country.
