Aintree Day Two
Evening to all and sundry(or should it be " is anybody out there?").cracking stuff today with the highlight being Big Bucks, who has just about proved himself to be the best Nh in his chosen sphere of any that ive seen.
Tomorrow looks a tricky one again but ive had a little look and come up with this list of avoidables!
Race 1.Competitive,big field renewal. One that ive liked since he won at Taunton earlier in the season is IOLITH.Think he will appreciate this better ground and he comes here very fresh having given Cheltenham the swerve.
Race 2.Will give all those that ran at Cheltenham a wide berth, particularly Wayward Prince as everyhting he does looks hard work and he tends to hit a flat spot, you cant do that round here.QUITO DE LA ROQUE is my idea and for all that he has form on bad ground i do think that this better surface and less demanding track will play to his strengths.
Race 3. Cracking race with lots of old foes meeting again.Cant get away from the fact that MASTER MINDED has beaten all this lot at some point beforehand and although he ran flat in the Champion Chase i am a great believer in the form is temporary, class is permanent theory.
Race 4.Tremendous handicap, plenty have been round here before and its a real pinstickers dream but i have always had a soft spot for SIEGEMASTER.Verges on conditions class at his best,he won a big hcap earlier in the year, hes used to carrying big weights(great run in last years Irish national) and will appreciate the strong pace on this better surface. He has a touch of quality, big player in my book.
Race 5.Very good edition of this race,as before im ignoring Cheltenham horses and going for BACK IN FOCUS.Bolted up at Haydock, beating Court in Motion. If he acts on this quicker ground then he must go close.
Race 6.Notebook horse..GOLDEN CHIEFTAIN.Lovely big chasing type but not short of pace.won nicely last time and will love coming off a strong pace.
Race 7.Sorry but i dont do bumpers.
Good luck if you play

Re: Aintree Day Two
Very hard days racing tomorrow, I agree with your good self nut regards horses that ran at the Festival however its very difficult selecting the winners.
Big Bucks was different class today, Denman should not have been anywhere near Aintree and cost punters a fortune, personally I would not have bet him with stolen money but he should have been tucked up in his stable.

William Hill offering 5/1 on Big Bucks never being beat over hurdles.
Shows the class this horse posseses, dred to think what his odds will be next time out.
Has Binocular passed his p|ss test haha?

Re: Aintree Day Two
today AP McCoy looks to have a good book of rides
I am going for
2.00 Sire de Grugy - comes here fresh after missing Cheltenham and 3 impressive wins. also has a 2nd to Bobs Worth this season
2.30 Wayward Prince - impressive winner around here last year
3.05 Albertas Run- again loves Aintree. It would be great to see Master Minded win though!
3.40 Fine Parchment - I don't understand why this horse is 16/1 for this. 3 good wins this season and a 2nd round here in November. My each way bet of the day!
4.15 Mossley - very tricky this. Big dangers are Sparky May and Back in Focus.
4.50 Ringaroses
5.25 Tante Sissi
the last 2 I think from a betting point of view are best left alone!

Yes........he unseated at Cheltenham....very disappointing for his connections....they would have been mightily relieved to see him get up ok after that nasty looking fall,

next race I think Albertas Run will follow up his Cheltenham win.
an outsider who might do well is Mad Max but I really want Master Minded to do well

Fantastic old footage there.......how scary did Beechers look before the modifications.
Great to see Harvey Smith and Capt. Mark Phillips going round.
Mark Phillips is a truly exceptional horseman...I was trained by an event rider who was trained by Mark Phillips....impressive huh? lol.
Richard Pitman was very good looking in his younger days

Harry Skelton's certainly got the right pedigree for racing.
Hi dad, Nick, had the most beautiful hands of any showjumper ever! IMO
Magical to watch him ride......he must be so proud of what his sons are achieving in the world of racing

Not as much I as did a few years ago but I do every now and then, especially the big races. Won them all apart from the Gold Cup! I done Denman again, but it was a vialent effort, just not enough.

That was a massive price for Always Waining ... A horse that always runs well at Aintree at this meeting. Missed the race as have the pleasure of working in Newmarket today ... went for a wander around the town centre at lunchtime....It has to be said, the sun has brought out some very nice sights !!!! ......
