UK trials
First topic message reminder :
Entry lists out now.
Delano Williams only doing 200m whilst Adam Gimili is only doing the 100m.
Women's 100m includes Asha Philips and Jodie Williams neither of whom have shown any real form outdoors so far this year. Both need to be in top form if we are going to do well in the women's 4 X 100m.

Re: UK trials
Gutted for Ugen though, she jumped 6.74 and has had a 6.83 wind assisted. But she needs 6.75 to go.
Sawyers is amazing for her age though.

Re: UK trials
Let's not forgot 20 year old Holly Bleasdale breaking the British outdoor pole vault record as well:
"Bleasdale has struggled outdoors this year after clearing a remarkable 4.87m indoors in January and had two failures at both 4.40m and 4.50m before clearing 4.71m at her second attempt.
"Today was the first competition I've put a new technique into place, and I felt like I was flying," she revealed afterwards. "I feel like I can go much, much higher." "

The weather during the trials has been pretty much dreadful and it is supposed to be summer now.

Right to mention Bleasdale - 4.71 is great, great jump, and will give her huge amount of confidence going into the Olympics - well done to her

Strawberry Jam wrote:Amazing women's long jump at the trials. One British Record 6.95, and two PB's in 2nd and 3rd ( 6.74 and 6.64 ). Clearly then, for the Long Jump the conditions weren't obstructive. Great event and hides well.
One minor surprise, that Ennis was not able take advantage to put in a good series ( 6.27 - really feel that with her flat speed she should be able to jump 6.65 or more ). Still - overall, a great effort across the events from Ennis at the trials
She jumps off her wrong foot because she is afraid of getting injured.
Who knows what she will do on her third jump in the olympics if she is down a bit.
