- Spoiler:
Would anybody be up for a realistic league using the premier league? Have 16 teams, cut the three promoted sides and one other team out as it makes cup running easier and easier to get all the managers in. Different teams would have different targets for the managers. Some of the teams like Man United and Man City would want a title win, whilst some of the lower teams like Norwich would see it as an achievement to avoid relegation. Each season would last fifteen weeks, with tactics due by Friday night and match results announced on a Monday morning, so we have a Premier League weekend.
Tactics and the team played would both be taken into account when deciding on a result, so shocks can happen, if a small side is set up much better than they can draw or even win games despite playing a better side on paper, just like what would happen in real life. At the end of each season the bottom three are relegated, top four get into a Champions League with four foreign teams, the next four into the Europa League and the bottom eight into FA Cup. But for the first season everyone takes part in an FA Cup, which would be easy to run with 16 teams.
The teams would be done via a random draw, but if managers both agree then swaps are allowed, and also any manager can swap their side for one of the promoted sides if they would prefer a challenge with a lower team.

Re: Realistic Premier League
Bit unfair TBH. When people have been doing pre-deals, you had extra players to chose from. Its like me having a huge squad, seeing who I can shift for cash, then if I can sell them just cutting them from my squad....

Re: Realistic Premier League
Has anyone seen Bongani Khumalo's Wiki page:
I actually want him back in my squad after reading that!
He is known for his brute strength and ability to injure the strongest players while tackling cleanly.

Re: Realistic Premier League
Right guys,
A lot of deals have been pre-agreed, nothing I can do now, I just turned up a few hours later and it was too late. That's fine. But, I think the final manager needs a fair chance to sign players. When the page is up, he will get a bit of time to make bids, like everyone else has, as no deals are yet concrete.
A bit later, the transfer window will open so managers can officially confirm their transfers, if the final manager is also interested in a player who has been put in a pre-agreement, then his interest is also valid.
Just wanting to make this league fair and have everyone on an equal footing

Re: Realistic Premier League
Trebs can the squad size increase once it kick starts as it does say a max squad of 30 on the rules page:
Initially, you may select 25 players who play for the team. This is to prevent excessively large amounts of players being added on from the youth squad and immediately released. Any transfers which have taken place in the real life summer transfer window do not count, so for purposes of this league, Eden Hazard does not play for Chelsea and Shinji Kagawa does not play for Manchester United. The squads are based on the squad as it was on the final day of the Premier League or Championship season. Any loaned players play for their parent clubs, so for example, Emmanuel Adebayor is a Manchester City player.
Your squad can be up to 30 players, however must not exceed this amount. On the squad page, the current budget must be shown, the players and a record of all transfers. This should be kept up to date.

Re: Realistic Premier League
Foreign offers are one per week yes olly.
Hero, the initial squad is 25, but once transfers open, this can go up to 30 yes, the idea was to stop people ramming loads of youth players into their squad to release.

Oh foreign offers, is that like offers for our players?
I mean getting players in who aren't in the league. Is that like one per day or something?

Re: Realistic Premier League
Olly, it's a 'lawyers' offer.
It's one per week there.
Foreign transfers, where you sign the players, it's one bid per day

Re: Realistic Premier League
Pick a team from the following:
Wigan/QPR/Reading/Sunderland
Go to that clubs page on Wiki and decide which 25 players will make your team (this is based on the end of the season, so loanees return but any players brought in or out since then are not counted).
Create your own page within this section with the team listing in it.
Then start offering players to other clubs or try and get in players.
About it really.
