Re: 606v2 World Tour - WIMBLEDON
Tsonga should probably take a set off Nadal, grass is more his thing and he's a decent volley-er, Raonic has a lot to prove in his rally game but his movement is quite good.

I've not taken part in these competitions before but would be fun to try although would be good to do this after the first week rather than right before the whole tournament but anyway, this is my prediction:
Losing in QF: Berdych, Tsonga, Tipsarevic & Del Potro
Losing SF: Federer & Murray
RU: Nadal
Winner: Djokovic

Only 3 countries are guaranteed a player through to the mens 2nd round.
Who can name them without searching?

I am surprised with the faith in Tipsarevic given he has never gone beyond the 4th round at Wimbledon

RU: Berdych
Winner: Nadal
PS...due to the draw and recent form I think this is one of the harder slams to predict...it's going to be interesting to see how this one pans out at QF stage.

QF: Gasquet, Nalbandian (what a poor 'eighth' he is in!!), Ferrer, Tomic
SF: Federer, Murray
F: Nadal
W: Nole
Just to say if hot; i.e. a heatwave (which it won't be next week, but you never know!!)) then it's a Fed v Murray final with the Scot winning his first major
Think Murray's tough draw will either help him or he'll lose before the 4th round!!
I just can't get over those who think that Del Potro would beat Murray (easily the match I'm least worried about) when;-
1) It's a surface that favours Murray
2) Del Potro has often commented he has diffculites with the grass, in terms of his balance
3) Their head to head and the psychological hold Murray has - which again Del Potro alluded to
4) He's got past the 2nd round once
I'll go with those who say they haven't met since 2009, but has the Argentinean improved that much and Murray dropped off. The Scot might not be in the most scintillating of form - but he's showed up for the Slams in recent times
I'm not even convinced that Del Potro would get to to the quarters. Ferrer for me, on form and consistency, is far more of a danger because he moves better and will simply batter DP into submission

Yet you chose someone who has never gone beyond the 2nd round ...legendkillarV2 wrote:I am surprised with the faith in Tipsarevic given he has never gone beyond the 4th round at Wimbledon
I agree with most who say this is going to be an interesting Grand Slam - it is less predictable than the AO or RG this year - and it must be do or die now for Federer to match Pete Sampras winning record at Wimbledon but there is one person who I think he cannot beat .

Re: 606v2 World Tour - WIMBLEDON
But his record last year at Wimbledon (beaten by Nadal) and his record this year, suggests he is a threat.banbrotam wrote:... I just can't get over those who think that Del Potro would beat Murray (easily the match I'm least worried about)...

Now then girls!! I think it's great that we've all thought about it and we're all pretty knowledgeable and we'll probably all be proved wrong in someway
For instance, I haven't a clue what Murray will do. He could easily go out in R2 and he could easily win it. Neither would be a surprise
The more I look at the draw though and the more I do think it's now of never for Roger
Tipsy's not a bad shout though, he's quite an elegant player with a variety of shots, i.e. ideal for grass. A clash with him and 'not so fat these days, Dave' will be worth watching and I think either would outfox the more one-dimensional Isner
Could be one of the best 'looking' last 8's of recent times - with players who can play all the shots

Re: 606v2 World Tour - WIMBLEDON
I want to see Rafa play Tsonga; it's a long time (I think) since he faced a power player of some aptitude here.
I don't think all the top 4 will be in the semis this time, thank God.

Surely, you think that Roger will fail to reach the last 4, for the 3rd Wimbledon on the trot??
