Or a man who values loyalty and adherence to the gameplan over form.

Re: Ian Evans
So where was his loyalty to Evans who was the form and standout 2nd row in the 6 Nations.
Or is he punishing him for showing loyalty to his family and not re-arranging wedding etc.
If they were willing to let him arrive later than rest of squad then why not use him, if not why not say.

Your second point - could be, who knows? There's a lot of favouritism around. Ask Dan Biggar.
Evans has been very good, no question.

Re: Ian Evans
To be honest there were some odd decisions regarding player management around this tour. First off the we were all under the impression that the Baabaas game was sort of a trial for the fringe players, however it was later revealed that the players were told before the match who was touring an who wasn't. Then there was Ian Evans putting his honeymoon on hold to tour and not getting played, whereas Alyn Wyn Jones missed a game for his sister wedding but still got selected afterwards (I'm pretty sure that is right). And finally there was Gareth Delve being called up when Faletau (or was it Shingler) got injured and didn't get involved in the match day squads at all.

Re: Ian Evans
Jet lag is about right he didn't get to Australia until the Monday before the Brumbies game after a 50 odd hour journey via Athens from the Greek Island where he got married , too late for the Brumbies game which he needed to figure in for second test consideration.
Then for the third test the coaches stuck with the team they thought should have won the second test except for Hibberd who carried the can for the loss. In other words the tour diary and his travel arrangements dictated his chances but he has gained brownie points for turning up less so with his new missus no doubt .

The Delve issue drives me nuts!! He has been playing really well, and I just can't understand why he wasn't involved from the off!!!

Re: Ian Evans
It was obvious Evans would suffer jet lag so why bother getting him to put honeymoon on hold but like said they involved AWJ.
Don't get me started on Delve issue as not many agree with me anyway.
