Haye v Tyson
First topic message reminder :
Just got the idea from the Tyson in his prime article. Who do you think would win between Haye v Tyson in their primes and also if Haye were to go on and beat both Klit's do you think that he could be listed ahead of Tyson in the ATG's list as he would have unified two divisions, although against poor quality opposition.
Your thoughts please guys.

Re: Haye v Tyson
I'd say Tyson 1st round KO, Haye doesn't seem too hard to hit and I have a feeling his chin is gonna struggle against Wlad.
I think Tyson would be too quick and too strong.

I don't rate Tyson as high as many but Haye has nothing substantial on his short heavyweight CV to justify me picking him over Tyson.

Haye is not noted for having any of the tools that have found success against Tyson in the past.

Agreed. Would get inside Tyson's head. Other than the mandatory "puncher's chance" - that's all he's got IMO

Re: Haye v Tyson
A more interesting fantasy after yesterday would be Tyson vs Wlad or Vitali. What would you make of that one?

Tyson would have Pretty party boy Haye absolutely bricking it. Do you have any idea about Tyson's background and way of life? Yet little middle class no mark David's going to get inside his head.

Re: Haye v Tyson
Tyson to beat every one of today's prominent heavyweights ( except Vitali, ) on the same night, and then beat Vitali the following night, in my opinion.
Tyson's stock has fallen dramatically, over the years, and I've never bought into the idea that he could beat everybody in history, anyway, but there's no doubt that he was a fine fighter in his day. Fast, aggressive, genuine power in either hand, not easy to hit when he was concentrating and employing the bob and weave, and with a pretty good chin to top it all off.
He might find problems with self - belief if he couldn't shake up Vitali early on and found himself to be still dealing with the Klitschko jab anytime after halfway, but I'd still make him favourite. Lest we forget, Tyson also had an excellent jab ( see the Tony Tucker fight, ) and was fast enough to - possibly - beat Klitschko to the landing of it. I also believe that Tyson's fast combos might even crack the Vitali chin. Few could take Klitschko out with a single shot but, at his very best, Tyson didn't throw single shots.
Love him or loathe him, I believe Tyson to have been a class above today's lot.

AlexHuckerby wrote:It's interesting to me, in complete honesty, for me it's a near toss up , I do realise that what I am saying is slightly controversial with some of you guys, however in complete honesty, Tyson never really fought a fighter who you could perhaps have said was faster than him. Tyson's speed and power was one of his great assets no doubt, but when you have someone slightly faster than him, how would he have reacted, also you cannot disagree that if Haye landed a good shot that stunned him and had him against the ropes battering him with the huge fast combinations he can throw then Tyson would be out of there but visa versa...
You're a total dreamer......Haye's a blown up Cruiser and that's it, Tyson was as fast as Haye at his peak and getting on for 2 stone heavier and with proven HW power against on form opponents, if if if if Haye got him on the ropes if if if if if he landed....another Haye fanatic that needs to stop mouthing off ..... what did we learn about Haye at the weekend ????? All spin and no delivery....weak.
