The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Antananarivo Arms, Madagascar
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Antananarivo Arms Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to Madagascar, where 35,000 raucous fans recently watched the home side upset Namibia in a 110-point thriller.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of the Madagascan team war dance, Japan/NRL-bound Sonny-Bill Williams, Bradley Wiggins and the prematurely-retired Mark Boucher above the bar.

There's 8 teams in the league. The team we beat last week qualified 4th into the semis last season, but the top 3 teams all had their England players away at the Indoor World Champs semi-final week. And last night they had a couple of their better players away (granted they had an England rep filling in in the 1st half).
One of their fill-ins plays for my Thursday team (which is about 2 grades lower than my Tuesday one), and they played her at wing attack - she's a handy defender but I wouldn't put her anywhere near WA in C grade let alone A. That meant we were able to "spare" a mid-courter to help me zone mark the tall goal attack.
And lastly there was a wee rain shower in the 3rd quarter. We made less mistakes with the slippery ball than they did - their "throw high passes to the tall guy just over Kiwi's despairing jump" strategy doesn't work if the pass is too low, and if it's too high it goes out of court.

Hah! Comedian.
Yes, that is nice though. Plenty of nice pubs nearby though they'll fill up quickly on a Friday I suppose.

Bit naughty that we have Blues away over Christmas again. They do usually alternate. Not really an issue though.
Unfortunately, if Gibbo does come over in March, I will be away. I can however do my planned trip to Galway in January.

I think we will Stag. Mrs too, though she won't be at the game, she'll be with her lady friend. Last Man Standing fighting and boozing then
My mate text and said Munster away on his birthday weekend. I think it's a bit of a stretch to go for it so soon though. We'll see.
Looking at the derbies, they aren't doing the two over Christmas now, so I guess that's why we play the Blues away. We normally play Blues around Boxing Day and Scarlets near New Year. Looks like I get 7/8 league games in (subject to tasking) before my trip away, which with a few Amlin and LV games isn't a bad return. Definitely worth buying.

So in reality you was lucky and even though you have achieved 50% target you will still struggle to get the other win?

KIwi is this a mixed gender league?
Not sure how many are on the court at any given time, but like 3 male 3 female?

Yep, it's a mixed gender league, 3 men (or less) and 4 women (or more) on court. You're only allowed 1 male shooter (GA or GS) and 1 male circle defender (GD or GK).
Rava, there is one team of "scratch" players this season as 2 teams have merged so we're targetting them, and the team that won "B" grade last season aren't good enough to come up.
Last season we upset the defending champs, and lost by 2 goals to a team including 6 current/former England indoor reps. Most games we are competitive for 2 or 3 quarters, it's just that the better teams have that "changeup" 10 minute spell where we get blown away like we're Ireland playing NZ

Leinster up first for us. Eaaaaasy.
Although you know what, desptie moving back to the county that my region play in, I think I'm going to find it much harder to make it to matches, then when I lived away. How ridiculous is that??

Why thank you Penfro ....it goes without saying you are all welcome at castlerodders if you fancy watching City of Derry RFC or Londonderry YMCA RFC play..... ......
May end up missing a chunk of the 1st half of the season as the prospect of going to the states with work has reared its ugly head again ...hopefully will know soon... but will happily catch up with anyone who wishes for a in Belshaft over the winter period if I'm around.....

Penfro, such a shame you won't be able to make either of those away matches in Belfast. I'm not sure about away matches at all next season. I'm in no position to book or confirm anything. Just have to see what kind of situation I'm in in even a few weeks from now.

Assuming the Dragons won't play the same day as the Scarlets play the Chiefs, I reckon I'll head down to Sandy for that too. Have to wait for the dates first before I confirm though.
