Trussman - a credit to the board
Morning Gents,
Well, the unexpected happened, and Garcia knocked Khan out. I said I'd write an ode to how valuable Truss is to these boards and I stick by it as a man of my word.
Truss is VITAL to these boards as an objective viewpoint. Much the same as Azania and those types. You love to hate them. If you have a stalwart opinion you can bet that someone on these boards will have an opposition. Some come forward with reason and evidence such as Chris. While some come forward with insults and arrogance - what can possibly be bad about that? Truss invokes debate. For forums thats always a positive. When new posters see his responses, i can imagine the first thing on their mind is to jump in to the argument and get involved. There's no intimidation factor there, and if I'm honest I think its a good thing he is so patriotic. Steffan, Super D, Derek McKee (Irish right?) etc - all different nationalities rooting for their boxers. He's a positive. FACKT. His writing ability and debating style are TOP QUALITY and I think I speak for us all when I say...
Long live Truss.

Amen to that! The All American Beefster is a worthy contributor, if quite abrasive at times..but that is part of the experience!
Re: Trussman - a credit to the board
Ha ha. Been posting with/against truss for years now, hated him at first and then he grew on me. We've had our spats, I've watched in amusement at his ongoing feud with DAVE667/669, but all in all the beefster is alright for a big self righteous pompous yank
Can I just ask (as I've been away most of 2012 and don't get much chance to post at present), where is Coxy?

He made a brief re-appearance to pay his respects to Windy but it was pretty cold and fleeting.

I heard that he finally got himself a job, but it turned out that they wouldn't let him use his laptop whilst tending the dodgems as it was a health & safety risk.

Thanks, Jeff.
I may also add that he was ushered out of the door swiftly in the aftermath of the announcement.

Re: Trussman - a credit to the board
Go on then, I believe it is common knowledge anyway.
1. Coxy stated that he'd be leaving due to work commitments.
2. He stated he would cause a stir before he left.
3. A pre-emptive strike blasted him out of the door before he could.
4. He has been back to pay tribute to Windy, but stated that he will still be away from the boards.

Thanks Fists - I now feel enlightened! He was good value for his arguements with D4, but after D4 left I kind of felt there was no point to him! I always miss it when it kicks off.

Re: Trussman - a credit to the board
Think I saw D4 on ESB at one point. He made a comeback about a yr ago and was swiftly booted off as we had about a dozen Pac threads in a few days.
Always quite liked Waingro, bit of a numpty but more like the special kid in school I actually felt sorry for him, especially the kickings he got. Thought Gordy might be the new Waingro but it doesn't seem to have materialised.
Perfessor, on the other hand, he was a WUM I wanted to punch in the face!
Does Scottrf post anywhere anymore? He's another of the original 606 clique not to post here anymore, along with the Captain and a few others.

Can I just ask who Wlad has avoided to earn such a reputation, is hardly his fault he operates in such a weak era.

Only if you disagree with him, or you don't write a lengthy essay, otherwise you get the 'hit and run' label.

It was hardly a classic either. David Haye beating up some fat bloke with a decent chin and not much else was hardly a contender for FOTY.

Yeah it was a bit OTT. Should have just been a handshake, quick bro hug and then walked away as if to say "job done"
Surprised Truss hasn't commented.

(It's not a patch on my Trussman poem from the old 606 though...)

I remember your ode to Trussman well, Union. Part of BBC 606 folklore, so it was. Go on, post it here. I know you're desperate for someone to give you a reason!

Re: Trussman - a credit to the board
That took a bit of finding, I forgot how backwards the old BBC 606 was.
Anyway, after trawling through a load of reverse linear nonsense and caption competitions, as well as the long forgotten 'Place Your Bets' series, I finally came across my finest work, the Ode to TRUSSMAN55.
Enjoy...

I'm truly honored......the poem was worthy of Wilfred Owen!!!
Typical Windy....whenever you argued against the guy he'd dig into the archives and give you a slap....
Wouldn't have wanted to be a defence lawyer If he was prosecuting!!

Re: Trussman - a credit to the board
Ok, first time since checking since saying goodbye to Windy.
But I wasn't "shot down prior to anything". I was merely deleted by an over zealous and overweight admin who has near enough zero tolerance for banter. If he is able to remember, which I more than doubt, the subject at hand he will repeat.
Windy fought long and hard to keep me here. Yes, I was beyond the 'rules' but past the banter lied a heart that was in boxing.
Now, I don't give a Poopie' muslim - But I was on last orders from Windy alone. Fists had zero idea, Adam may have had but didn't get why. So fists, cut the crap fella as I wasn't gunned before I said ****.
And feel free to delete this acccount. I only came back to read the obits' and have a peruse round the old place

Sadly uninformed, as ever, Coxy. Believe me, I know every single detail of what went on. However, here isn't the place to discuss it.

I've never forgotten it mate.
The trail run is the only thing I've ever won on either incarnation of 606. It's my Buster Douglas moment and incidentally seems almost as long ago as Buster Douglas' Buster Douglas moment.

Re: Trussman - a credit to the board
I still don't fully understand how Coxy managed to go from being a respected member of the old BBC board (well, mostly respected anyway) to being the village idiot of 606v2 within the space of a few months. I think I'd rather converse with a lashed Jim Davidson than the latter incarnation of Mr Cox. It was getting to the point where, quite literally, I just decided I was going to disagree with anything he said no matter what, he was that annoying. Particularly when it came to a discussion concerning Roy Jones, Mike Tyson or Naseem Hamed.
Couldn't carry Truss' jockstrap.
