I don't seem able to get a win from any match. I'm obviously falling foul of ratings of managers. Some tips on where my side needs to improve and why it cannot beat what I see as a much inferior City side?

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Sorry Guv, it was myself that gave you the loss, my justification for it was that I based it like I always do more on form than reputation, for me the likes of Evra, Robben, Schweinsteiger, Maicon etc are all in poor form whilst at City they have very in form players like Khedira and Balotelli.

Correct decision kam, given the testimonies by both players and lack of witnesses its the only decision they could make.

What about the video evidence showing him citing those words?

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
If you read the magistrates statement it basically says he thought he was probably guilty but there is insufficient evidence to return a guilty verdict. I think that is about right. The case brought by the prosecution was pathetic tbh. So flimsy it was untrue.
Neither Terry nor Anton Ferdinand come out of this well. Ferdinand was giving him some abuse by the sounds of it which is totally wrong as well although no-one seems to care about that. I don't think Terry is a racist but made a stupid comment in the heat of the moment. Not right but who hasn't said something stupid they don't mean when wound up.
Hopefully it will be sufficient for players to think more about their behaviour although I won't hold my breath with some of them.

What does that prove though? Whilst it proves he said it it doesn't prove either way the intent behind it. Terry said that he was replying to something which Anton said that Terry had said. There is no evidence either way to what Anton said or if Terry said "Did you just say that I said...".
Based on how the court system works he couldn't be proved guilty and therefore is innocent. Tbh Kam they couldn't find him anything but innocent.

I agree that Anton is a pr*ck for stiring up JT.
Good point Gregers.
I think JT is a knob anyway which was universally known

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
I wouldn't be so sure about that. The FA are going to re-open their investigation now.
I suspect Terry may get a ban for bringing the game into disrepute or similar charge. Probably a good thing if it might prevent a reoccurence of the whole unsavioury affair.
Has anyone thought about a team of knobheads?

RB ------ Anton -- Terry ------ Cole

RW -------------------------------- LW

No question I'd rather the first one. Stankovic is much more of a weakness than Muller on the wing.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Nice to see Rio Ferdinand doesn't have double standards!
What a prize plonker. Just been having a massive row with a resident Utd fan who has been slagging off Terry the past week but now defends Rio. Can't have it both ways imo. Terry is an unpleasant individual who was in the wrong but for me Rio has sunk to that level as well with his tweets.
Seems that Ashley Cole comes out better than most since he did not want to take any action. More's the pity really.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
All his tweet nonsense, the one where he agreed with one of his followers when he called Ashley Cole a 'choc ice' which is a racist term for saying a black person is betraying their ethnicity, basically accusing Cole of lying for his teammate when his testimony in the Terry trial bore out Terry's version of events. Just cos it supported Terry's own version and didn't suit the Ferdinand case, Cole must be lying and thus betraying his black roots.
Highly offensive, not to mention potentially libelous stuff. Cole did the sensible thing and dismissed the tweet as a one-off bad moment on Rio's part.
I understand Rio's position but he needs to remember he, and other senior black players, have a vital role to play in the effort to kick racism out of football. By enthrenching himself the way he has, he only threatens to increase the divide. I'm not saying he should ignore it but he needs to consider what he says on a public forum regardless of what he thinks personally or may say to close friends.
I have no doubt that Terry was guilty of what he was charged, just that the evidence was not sufficient to prove it for certain and thus he got off. I also believe that it was also a 'bad moment' for Terry as well and that he would not usually make such comments. Doesn't make what he did right but the whole thing should have been sorted out between him and the Ferdinand brothers rather than going to court. Not their fault perhaps since no-one wanted that except the busybody who complained in the first place.
What we have now is the ridiculous situation where so many people are saying racism is rife in our game where I don't think it is anymore. Yes, it does still exist but all forms of bigotry still exist, sadly, but the UK is so far ahead of most of the world in that respect, we are in danger of ruining all that progress for the sake of a stupid, throw away comment which has been blown out of all proportion.
I think the FA should ban Terry for 8 matches as they did Suarez. That should say that any such comments, regardless of context, are not acceptable. Terry should accept the ban and say so publicly that he agrees with it on that basis.
Let common sense prevail.
Rant over.

Yep.
It's not a subject I like talking about since it is so easy to be misinterpreted or say something that doesn't come out the way you meant it to and makes it sound like you're saying something you're not.
How you doing Kam? Has the new PL FF comp started yet?

I know what you mean Guv.
Rio is an idiot and comes out as 'more' racist with the 'choc-ice' comment.
Doing good Guv, well until I saw I'm playing Real Madrid.
May have to do a Chelsea and go for a draw
The new PL hasn't started but will renew our league.

Re: Fantasy European League Season 2 Homepage™
Good man.
I'm really looking forward to this coming season. Some exciting players coming into the PL again so will be interesting to see how they get on.
Do you think RvP will stay ultimately or has it gone too far now? Shame if so. A strong Arsenal is good for the PL rather than strengthening City further. We need 4 or 5 teams capable of winning the PL rather than just 2. I think Pod will do well for you though and hopefully Giroud will do better than Chamakh.
I read a rumour that Barca were interested in Koscielny. Surprised me a little. Any truth in that one?

I can't see RVP staying. He has even gone quiet on twitter just as Nasri did before he shifted.
I think Arsenal will be decent but we neED quality cover especially defensively to compete with the big boys.
I'm not surprised that Kolscielny is getting looked at.
He has improved so much defensively IMO.
Chelsea will be interested to watch as they have gone for a different approach.
Love the EPL

Can't believe Ferdinand said Cole was a 'choc-ice'. Cole gets a lot of stick in the press for his treatment of Cheryl Cole (how, why would he cheat?!) but I've actually come to like him a little bit. The only thing against him really is that Cheryl episode and he is actually a sensible fella.
I've been watching the Premier League Years on Sky Sports today, cracking show, but it just reminded me of how entertaining the PL was when it was between United and Arsenal particularly, and also Chelsea. That 07/08 season when Arsenal capitulated at Birmingham and Chelsea managed to get themselves back in the race after Mourinho's departure was amazing. It's a shame Arsenal have gone downhill now.
