What are your opinions on this offer?

Sigurdsson + Skrtle + 7m = Jovetic

Sorry Olly, but just want other peoples opinions. Bear in mind that Skrtle is injured this week, hence the extra money.

Is it that bad a deal?

Its not a bad deal, but I think Olly can do a lot more with Marky's offer as there are more decent RWs in TPs than AM/SS or LWs

I think Bale = Skrtel, Oxlade Chamberlain and £15M is a huge offer. Bale isn't worth 50m on here.

I think Olly would be losing a damn sight more with that, then the deal above.

I'd say that Siggie is worth 10-12m, the same for Skrtel so on Olly's side it amounts to around the 30m mark with the 7m chipped in.
Jovetic at present I'd value at 15-20m, if he remains at Fiorentina more so around the 15m, if he moves to Juve or Chelsea as high as 25m.

I think Olly would struggle to get a good LW/AM in depending on where he played Jovetic.

The other deal might be higher value, but I think he can more easily replace Oxo.

And the as you say yourself, the £15m v £7m is almost irrelevant because it is difficult to spend

Jovetic is worth as low as that in your opinion Erm

I would say he would be at least £20-25m regardless of where he plays

I'd also say that a lot of people have stated that they don't really want Jovetic in deals that have been offered, so if I was Olly, I would be questioning if he doesn't get the rating he deserves.

Personally I would rate Jovetic at the £20-25m mark too, but that is just me.

But you are also right that Bale is being massively overvalued too.

Bale is probably a £25m player and is not really better than Jovetic in my eyes

Maybe I need to recalulate but is Bale that much of a better player than Jovetic (if at all) that:

Jovetic = £20-25m
Bale = £45m

If that is the case, then so be it. I would not rate Bale as high as that though Erm

See my post above.

On Scud, I think it is a stretch to put him in Bale and Jovetic class, but I do think he is probably the most severely underrated player in these games.

I'm not sure how much weight you can put behind them scoring goals on here.

I am certain that in a lot of cases, people work out the score and then just randomly pick the scorers. I wouldn't feel confident that much reasoning is put behind picking the scorers in a lot of the voting.

Bale is higher rated because simply put he gets backpage exposure.
Where the issue for him though is is his highs and lows fluctuate more due to the exposure, one great game and he's worth 50m, one bad game the week after and he's back down at 20m.
Non Premier League players don't get the exposure so when they're great they don't peak as high but in the same respect when they have mares it's hardly noticed. Look at the likes of Schweinsteiger, if he'd been in the Premiership last year his value would have plummeted as quick than Andy Carroll.

|Very much the case to which we discussed the other day, Ayew has lost me votes at times as has Giovinco, both though have been blistering in form last season but because they're not headline names they don't get the plaudits.

Might as well keep Jovetic if all this is true then. Any move that happens for him to whatever team will automatically push his TM value up (maybe skyhigh). I will just sell him to end of season lawyers then OK

You know yourself Twist as you tried to play the game over the Euros and now as the Premiership is soon to start that the value is in the exposure, you brought in Euro players early for season 2 to gain from the tournament.
I've done the same with the punt on Moura now, if the deal comes off in RL and the supposed transfer of VDV to Hamburg happens then I'll have done well out of it, if VDV remains and Moura stays in Brazil I've got serious egg on my face, Utd players are the worst of the lot for it as there's so many Utd fans that a player that comes to them and performs well for a short period is suddenly thought of as God (Remeber Viva thinking Ashley Young was the Messiah back in the Furious League).

Exactly, hence why losing Shurrle and Reus (after the Euros) for Hazard was such a good deal. Jovetic and Ramirez are the only players of mine in midfield or attack, that aren't at a PL club. Ramirez is looking likely to go to Liverpool. IMO if Jovetic does go to Chelsea I am laughing.

Hence why I was staggered no-one would take a punt on him while his value is still low. As I said to Afro, Hazard was worth £25m on TM and the move to Chelsea added £10m to his value.

No it's fine. Hope you are happy with that deal. I think Marky got one over you there.

You have wasted pretty much all your cash on one player. Brought one from TP's (who plays in Ukraine). And now back to your squad limit with far less cash.

As long as you are happy OK

I am more than happy. Once I have worked out a few financial details, I should be able to do what I want in star player bids, and have my squad set for next season Very Happy

TSJ, Olly found himself with a lot of money and no star players, so we did;

Bale = Oxlade-Chamberlain and £27.5M

and

Adebayor = VDV

Which equals

Bale + Adebayor = Oxlade-Chamberlain + Van der Vaart + £27.5M

Which I turned into

Bale + Adebayor = Oxlade-Chamberlain + Van der Vaart + Essien + £6.5M

Olly you fool Wink

If Cisse and Dempsey get huge ratings here because they had great seasons, surely Essien shouldn't be rated at all because he's been injured since..... I don't even know when.

Harsh when I said "I don't rate Essien". He's alright, but at the moment there are better DM's about than him. Still, a good deal Marky.

He's a class CM, still only 29 and with pre-season behind him he'll be one of Chelsea's first team players more often than not.

Besides, it'd be different if he was first choice, but he's my back-up for Khedira and Schweinsteiger.

Don't think Olly has been done at all there.
Bale on his day has the ability to skin some of the best fullbacks in the world and has proven it, the fact he has some of the biggest managers in the world praising him to me means a lot more than in no disrespect a few pretend managers in here. Adebayor too whilst coming with baggage still manages to score, 4th top scorer in the Premier League once again last season.
VDV I can see either leaving or becoming an increasingly fringe player under AVB as he's clearly not the fan of players with egos, Essien's rating is next to nothing on here and Oxo is still a fringe player.

I don't think either of us have been done.

Essien's rating is next to nothing? Despite the fact he's not actually been on these games yet?

VDV is a great AM, one of the highest rated, and I don't think moving to Hamburg or missing out every other week is going to make a huge difference between now and when Season 3 ends in October and we have new squads.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is a fringe player but i'd imagine he will get games in the early part of the season and everyone knows the ability and pace he has.

Doesn't it say a lot about Essien though that he's been available for over 8 weeks and no one has gone near him yet he plays for the European Champions?

I know. He was also the most expensive outfield player available to sign, I think that tag passes onto Seydou Doumbia now Laugh

But as I said to Afro earlier, no-one had signed Mirko Vucinic for ages either, he spent £18.5m on him and claims other manager's had missed a trick.

I know Essien isn't on form but everyone knows he is a class CM and a good start to the season will prove the doubters wrong.

Very true, and if he does regain his previous form then you'll have an absolute steal as a couple of years ago he was what City have in Toure.

Except he was as dirty as Nigel De Jong. People forget that side of his game.

Roy Keane was dirty, was he regarded any less as a player because of it?

Depends what type of player you are. If you're a good player then no. If you're like De Jong and specifically go out of your way to hurt players then yes.

Nice bit of debate on players.

My opinion is that I think Olly has done some good work there.

He has got

Yarmolenko---Sigurdsson---Bale

which for me is better than

Oxo---Jovetic/New AM---New LW/Jovetic

given that there is not a lot of AM/LW about, whilst Yarmolenko is a very clever signing. He has starred in the CL, was brilliant at the Euros. He can also play left, right or central striker and is all set to join AC Milan. Admittedly he spent all his money, but we all agree that it is difficult to spend anyway.

And on Jovetic I would be surpised if his value went up if he joined Chelsea. His value already increase after being linked to Chelsea, so if he joins I do not believe it will go up anymore. Mata's didn't. I think Hazard's going up just coincided with them doing a mass update of valuations.

Essien I think could be easily be a steal, or an expensive mistake. If he is back to the player he was before his injury, then he is the best all round CM in the league. If he carries on like he was last season, then he is not going to get games for Chelsea. He is different from Vucinic as Vucinic was a regular starter and an important player, whilst Essien was not a regular and looked anything but important. (But give him a preseason behind him, he could be back.)

In fact, I wish I had signed Yarmolenko.

I was looking for a top quality RW and he would have fitted the bill perfectly
