First topic message reminder :

Ok, so team GB pick up a win in the track cycling, then one of them (Hindes) reveals that they had a poor start so he deliberately crashed so the race would be restarted.

Is this cheating? Should they be disqualified? How does this compare to the Chinese and Koreans dropping a badminton game to get a better draw in the knockout stages? Or is this just clever riding from the English?

I am going to sound real ignorant now, does it have videos? There were a few songs that got removed from youtube last year, that I only watched for the video(old red eyes, by beautiful south was one).

It doesn't matter because Australia is a country founded by criminals so to cheat these people out of medals isn't a bad thing. OK

Also remember that with the free version you get adverts every couple of songs and you can only listen to a song 5 times before it's locked until you buy the premium version of Spotify.

I used to use it, but then they decided that the free version wasn't economically viable and made it much worse.

A Celt..............not a word we use here in Ireland, but ok?

Suggest you watch the fight, in Beijing 4 years ago, there was a lot of controversial wins for Chinese boxers, it's something that follows this sport around unfortunately, and the Ogogo decision was laughable......... this forum is, after all, about debate, and when a controversial incident occurs we normally discuss it.......................do you have an opinion on the cycling apart from putting up a silly caption of a man holding his head??

Tophat, Ogogo should have lost. It's as simple as that in my opinion. Kytrov dominated the final round. Joshua should have lost also. But the judging as a whole needs to be looked at. There have been some absolute shockers. Atoev vs Juratoni, The Thai fighter earlier are ones that spring to mind. The appeals process is also fundamentally flawed. A result can be overturned if AIBA feel that the referee should or should not have penalised a boxer for breaking the rules. However, the judges are beyond reproach.

Actually the rider in the cycling who revealed that they had a poor start and did this deliberate move isn't really British, he is a German and has a Jerry accent when he speaks. Therefore should Team GB had been disqualified even before that race for fielding a rider who may/may not have been eligible to represent Team GB on the basis of where he was born?

The problem is with the rules. Should just be, if you crash then you are out. I don't know why you should be allowed to restart off a crash anyway.

But what happened was within the rules, and the other team didn't make a complaint, so whilst unsportsmanlike, this is no worse an incident than what every other team in the history of sport has done on a regular basis. That doesn't make it right. But, IMO, it does make most of the people whingingb about it hypocrites.

he could have just pulled up and raised his hand- its allowed in this sport- part of the game and the quicker people understand that the better- the guy may have some german in him but so what - he represents gb end of story and clearly is british as well as being german- His father was in the british army stationed in germany!!- you cant really get more british than that in truth!

I didn't think the Ogogo decision was that bad, I find amateur boxing so hard to score and not posting the scores as they go is a big mistake imo. It's how shady scoring gets through in the pro game. If I was going to point to a dodgy decision in the GB boxing it'd be the Joshua score not Ogogo.
