Sports Science
First topic message reminder :
I generally class myself as a fit guy (as you all probably know), training reguarly and maintaining a balanced diet.
A few years ago I went through the young mans phase of buying products with names like "ripped fuel" in my quest to become bigger/stronger/faster. Needless to say I didnt see any benefit (other than some bad headaches) in taking these products and personally feel that a balanced diet works wonders. You have nutritionists earning silly money for doing something that you can research for free.
The only "supplement" I go near is the odd protein shake, and this is purely a convienience thing.
Keeping things simple and eating normal foods is the way forward...
Opinions/thoughts/experiences?

Great use of 'delineator', though.
Corker wasn't it, did not think he had that in his locker (no offence top hat)

I don't, but I'm not a stupid man and I am aware of the pitfalls of walking on wet grass in a nice pair of brogues. Especially trying to swing a stick at a tiny white ball.
Can't you just stop trying to pick holes in what is clearly a flawless theory? I'm not Gordy, you know.
Golf on the other hand, might or might not pass the brogue test but it definitely fails the fag test.
Wrong

Exactly, he can play and keep a fag going (unlike swimming) therefore it is not a sport.
Want me to draw you a picture seany?

I always thought that there was a degree of verisimilitude about TopHat being able to use big, fancy words actually, Rowley.

I will ask you again, backstroke?
Look TopHat, you hounded poor little Gordy about ignoring your questions, now you are ignoring me. It's been a long time since I had a fag (leave it sean) but I am sure I could swim a length of backstroke and keep it burning.

You've misunderstood the fag test.
Fag test
Can you complete the 'sport' whilst smoking a fag? Yes = not a sport; No = Sport.
Brogue test
Can you complete the 'sport' whilst wearing brogues? Yes = not a sport; N = Sport.
The swimming-golf-darts trifecta highlights where the brogues test falls down but the fag test successfully identifies which games are sports and which are merely activities.

I think if Michael Phelps had a fat cuban wedged into a snorkel he could still pick up the odd medal - perhaps at the para games? Admittedly he'd have to forfeit the diving start and underwater turns but I can't see that being too different to Oscar Pistorius running on pogo sticks.

Nice.
You're getting carried away with yourself now, TopHat.
Can you swim in brogues? No. Sport.
Can you play golf in brogues in all available conditions? No. Sport
Can you play darts in brogues? Yes. Pastime.
It's flawless. Just give up before we fall out.

Me too, it involved swimming down to the bottom and picking up a heavy black brick. It confused me though as if I saw a black brick at the bottom of a river I would more than likely just ignore it. Especially if I was in my pj's and wearing some brogues.

Perhaps they should have exchanged the brick for a can of spam in your case?

I could swim in Brogues. I could have a fag while playing golf.
I couldn't however play with skill while having a fag. I also couldn't swim very well with brogues.
If you're debating the authenticity of sports by those yardsticks, I assure you I've played Football while having a cigarette in my much younger years, but not in a match of any sort. more of a heads and volleys style environment.
Darts isn't a sport though.

Sport. Uses an instrument requiring skill and strength to manage. Darts is throwing little arrows with your hand. Archery is shooting targets really far away with something that could kill you.
Also requires 2 hands. I could smoke a fag and be decent at darts. I couldn't do that with Archery.

See michaels earlier golf pic, not a fag but a massive fat cigar!
