England v SA. 4th ODI, Lords
First topic message reminder :
Now that England have the number one position back, SA will be keen to beat them at Lords to regain the #1 spot and England will be desperate to consolidate the #1. This has the makings of a very good match.
I cant see any team making any changes from the third ODI.
England 1 Alastair Cook (capt), 2 Ian Bell, 3 Jonathan Trott, 4 Ravi Bopara, 5 Eoin Morgan, 6 Craig Kieswetter (wk), 7 Samit Patel, 8 James Tredwell, 9 Jade Dernbach, 10 James Anderson, 11 Steve Finn.
South Africa 1 Graeme Smith, 2 Hashim Amla, 3 JP Duminy, 4 Dean Elgar, 5 AB de Villiers (capt, wk), 6 Faf du Plessis, 7 Wayne Parnell, 8 Robin Peterson, 9 Dale Steyn, 10 Morne Morkel, 11 Lonwabo Tsotsobe.

I think that we are all cautious about mentioning KP Skyeman
This could be the perfect situation for Bopara to regain some confidence in his batting.

I should have apologised to Hibbz, PSW and CJ immediately for my opinions, obviously if i dont share their opinions then i am a shocker.
Jeez man are you always this precious? No need to apologise but your opinion as stated and the one we disagreed with was that generally it puts pressure on other batsmen and that many times it has cost England.
If you'd said your current position that on occasion Trott doesn't score as quickly as he might and that you wouldn't fancy him regularly in a 300+ run chase then we'd have all been in agreement

On current form, could we use Ravi as a bowling allrounder in India?

Please quote me directly where i said this. I never said that he has cost England many times... Sick of this, i make one passing comment and then PSW has me dropping Trott, sayin the he forces other batsmen out and you saying that I have said that Trott costs England matches many times.
Call me precious all you like but i suggest you read what was written before jumping on my opinions.

Bopara falls, giving SA a sniff of a chance. England tail is fragile....
Should be OK if Bell and Morgan put on another 30 - 40 at least in reasonable time....

I dunno, if Trott's injured and misses the final ODI, Bopara will probably bat at 3.

No billy, you're just wrong to say Trott generally puts pressure on the other batsmen to score quickly.
Ok, generally was probably the wrong word but it has happened on many occasions, has it not?
Well many could mean three times or it could mean twenty but I'd be staggered if Trott's strike rate has cost England more than his ability to stay in has profited them.
Well his slow scoring has at times led to many a partner having to force the issue to keep a RRR under control and have gotton out for it?
Have you never seen this?
I know it's boring but I'm unpleasantly competitive, not a nice person and always need to have the last word.

Re: England v SA. 4th ODI, Lords
Warne's just tweeted: "Seriously @SkyCricket please pass on to Nass that his boy Bopara is a good 1st class player & a nice guy But not an international cricketer"
That might very well be true, but I think it's hilarious that Warne said it considering Bopara averaged 91 against Aus

Bell caught on 88, time to get nervous? Still 35 off of 40 balls required.

The fact that you've now messed up the chain of quotes (fat fingers?) by posting this as though I posted to suggest that Trott has got many partners out with his slow strike rate makes it very difficult but if you can remember that it was you that posted that all I can suggest is that causing your partner to get out obviously costs England.
Hell all I can say is that Hibbz generally wins his debates.

So i have fat fingers now eh Hibbz.
I really cant be bothered with you. You resort to pathetic little digs instead of backing up your claim. If i never said that he cost England matches then i didnt say that and now you are trying to claim that i said that indirectly.
I will let you respond to this with your last comment and will no longer respond to you as it really isnt worth anymore of my time.
