V2 WWC 2012
Some of you may remember that last year I ran a wrestling world cup from September through to December, well it's one year on and time for the V2 WWC to return.
For those of you that weren't around this time last year I have posted a link below to the competition summary thread for you to familiarise yourself with the format of the WWC.
https://www.606v2.com/t19195-v2-wcc-the-aftermath
The rules and seedings work as follows:
The competition consists of 96 wrestlers: 40 from the WWE 30 from TNA and 26 from other promotions around the world
The 96 wrestlers are drawn into 16 groups of 6 and will take the format of a poll thread, all you need to do is vote for the guy in that group you beleive is the best taking into account as many factors as you can: draw, championships, in ring ability, promo's etc and of course pesonal fav.
The top two from each group will progress making a final 32 which will form the final group stages. This stage will take the format of 8 groups of 4 and once again the top two will move on from each group making a final 16 one on one knockout until the final and we crown a winner!
I will drawn the groups at random but one thing i have done is seeded the wrestlers not on personal opinion but on the factors previously stated above to try and keep the big players apart until the later stages, you may not all agree with the seedings but i will be as fair and objective as i can.
This is now your chance to have your say on who enters the WWC last year a few people had an issue with some of the entrants and some of the omissions (Jefferson Impact) so this is your chance to put forward any names you want included.
Please post below your recommendations...

Great to see this is back Mike as it was great last year. If you want a second drawmaster again then let me know if you want me.
In terms of the seeding then surely the fairest way would be to seed on the basis of last year's results?

Re: V2 WWC 2012
What would be your thoughts josh on the likes of dean Ambrose and hero etc who would obviously make the 'other promotion' quota however now their at wwe and not on the main roster wouldn't make the wwe quota, or does their past history gain them a spot over the likes of mahal or d young for example?

Re: V2 WWC 2012
I would suggest that only those who are on the main roster should be in consideration for a place on the WWE side of things. In terms of other competitors such as Hero, Ambrose etc I would say that they have been out of indie promotions for too long to count for these so either a separate NXT segment is introduced (which I wouldn't agree with as it is a feeder league), or they wait until they are on the main roster / released.

Re: V2 WWC 2012
I'd disagree in regards to the likes of Ambrose, Hero and Seth Rollins not being included. All three have put on fantastic matches still whilst in development and their shows have been for the highlight of my week. Ambrose had the fantastic match v Punk and the rivalry with Regal, Hero recently reunited for the one off time with Claudio against Punk and Rollins. Just because they're not SD etc doesn't mean a fair few of us aren't watching them, I would bet that they're getting more interest than a DragonGate champion or anyone over in the Japanese Feds.

And who's really going to get more votes?
Titus O Neill, Epico and Darren Young
Or
Chris Hero, Tyler Black and Dean Ambrose?

This was my thinking. This thread is everyone's opportunity to have their say, mid way through last years tournament people were complain why certain people had not been included or had been included so use this thread to voice your opinions or forever hold your peace!

Re: V2 WWC 2012
Could I suggest, particuarly if this is going to be an annual thing, that a time limit is set on the body of work of the people we are voting on, like say a year or so, I feel this would lead to less repetition and confusion on who is voting for who as last year I remeber guys like HHH and Taker were carried far by people looking at the their whole body of work, knocking out those championed by people who were voting on current form.
An example of something that could arise this year is say Daniel Bryan who has been dynamite this past year is probably more deserving of a vote than say Kurt Angle who for the past year has been absent, injured and gernerally off form, yet looking at there careers as a whole Bryan has a long way to go to put together a body of work (at least on a mainstream level that many are aware of) that would rival Angle's legendary career.
I just feel it is something that would enhance and add longevity to the competition, as much like real sporting world cups it would get dull if the same guys won it year in year out, it could also enhance the debate as people would get the chance to discuss, celebrate and shame the stars and underperformers of the last year and less time would be spent bickering about the voting criteria.
Anyways this is a suggestion, I love this competition whatever form it's in and commend you for the power of work and attention it much require.

Re: V2 WWC 2012
I think that's a great idea Dr G, when I announce the seedings I'll state that the voting should be based on the last 12 months performance etc.
Thanks for the much needed input!!

Re: V2 WWC 2012
I think 40 from the WWE is too many to be honest, a lot of WWE dross where included in the early rounds last year and it meant great indy talent missed out, it just meant that the earlier rounds had more of a landslide victory for the favourites, I feel giving another 5-10 spaces for the Indy guys could possibly open up a lot more, particularly top guys in Japan, Mexico and The UK, those where major places we missed out on last year, we mainly considered the indy guys as guys just outside of the mainstream in America
Totally agree with Dr G's point, it has to be relevent from the final round of last years competition not what someone did 10 years ago
I also looked at Josh's post and for me it only highlights why WWE shouldn't have 40 positions, for me 30-35 is more than enough and weeds out the dross and the dire
