Yes, tonight it is...

Macclesfield v Stockport.

Sounds glamorous.

Do the fans share a tandem to that one?

From what I've read on FB the fans are really laying into one another and there might be some trouble. We don't do trouble at Macclesfield. In the league I think we were top of the league for smallest number of arrests (mainly due to there not being many people to arrest).
From what I've seen Stockport's main insult to Macc fans is that we are a small town in Stockport itself because we have a SK postcode. Not that being in different counties is considered in this well thought out argument.

I always find it funny that people hate teams close to them more than those from a distance away. It's completely against the human nature of banding together with geographical ties.

I see Pompey/Bournemouth is on tonight. Wherever cherries is, I'm sure he'll watch.

We were 2nd until we got battered by the mighty Luton at the weekend, down to 5th now I think.

Luton always seem to get within touching distance of promotion, and then never quite make it. Lost on pens to AFC Wimbledon, always seem to lose the playoff final.

How is Macc's new look manager doing?

Yeah, Alonso scored from the halfway line if we are thinking of the same game.

Luton is a dump by all accounts though...

One of my favourite memories as a Crawley fan is going to Luton away in our conference title winning season, it was like the great escape after going from 1-0 down to winning 2-1 in the last 10 mins! Luton absolutely hate us, ironic considering the scumhole that is Luton.

I've just starting kicking myself Olly - I missed out on Streater! I am picking him up on waivers as soon as I can. Seriously, he is going to contribute this year and his hands are as sure as any of our receivers. Nuts.

I don't have the facts at hand, but I can only assume it's Gatwick and that is why Luton fly into rage at the mention of Crawley

No I've always been a Utd fan first and Macc 2nd. I go to watch Macc due to locality, convenience and cost, if you've ever been to Macc it's hard to build an emotional bond for them.

Manager is doing really well, he clearly knows who's who in the conference and has nabbed some really decent players for the league, I do actually think Macc stand a good chance of at least reaching the Play offs.

I think you're onto something there, Gatwick is pretty awesome. It also explains why Bradford and Exeter aren't keen on us either.

I like when we get taunted with "small town near Gatwick", despite the geographical fact that Gatwick Airport is actually a part of the town of Crawley. Calling AFC Wimbledon a small team in Kingston is actually accurate!

You should check him out, Rod Streater. Everyone thought Criner would be the guy to burst through, but Streater was leading the team with catches pre-season and Palmer likes him, clearly. Only take him as a 5th WR mind, but real sleeper potential there. He may overtake butterfingers Ford in the slot during the year.

I used to look after an industrial estate near Gatwick in my old job - Forgewood Estate it was, on Forgewood Road (oddly), as well as a building in Crawley somewhere, Northgate something or other.

It was nicer than Luton. But it's no Heathrow.

I'd just like to say that this is the only league where you could have conversations about conference football, american football and airport envy all going on at the same time.

You try having those conversations on Pull's league or ja606

I almost miss non-league football, to the extent where I've considered going to watch Three Bridges FC in the Ryman league, as they've become my local non-league side and they're (rather cleverly) making sure their home games don't clash with Crawley's home games.

Where is the weirdest town any of you guys have been? Football related or not.

Mine is Plymouth. That place was altogether odder than anywhere else I've seen. They had a tent protest thing going on at the time, as well as an underground bar full of old guys in hats, and many of the locals seemed incapacitated due to drugs. Then there was a fight at the burger van. No one fights there - it's supposed to be sacred.

Hi Triple Z, fantastic name btw.
There's not a space at present, though we have a manager currently AWOL hopefully returning in the near future.
We are though looking to reboot the league come the end of this season so you're welcome to join in then in there isn't a space popping up before then as I know of one manager who isn't planning to continue for the reboot.

I went to Plymouth last year with work and thought it was a lovely town near the docks/bay etc.
Bognor this summer was odd. It was like Poundland HQ.

ZInedine, there are some questions that all new posters to our board have to answer.

They were originally answered by a former manager, but he was a bit of a plum.

1. XBox or PS3?
2. Who do you support?
3. Sweetie boy or lotion man?
4. Bull's mum or Olly's mum?

Mine is Plymouth. That place was altogether odder than anywhere else I've seen. They had a tent protest thing going on at the time, as well as an underground bar full of old guys in hats, and many of the locals seemed incapacitated due to drugs. Then there was a fight at the burger van. No one fights there - it's supposed to be sacred.

Stoke.

I lived in Stoke for a summer and concur on that. Anywhere where everyone refers to you as 'Duck' is odd.

I went to Plymouth last year with work and thought it was a lovely town near the docks/bay etc.
Bognor this summer was odd. It was like Poundland HQ.

Maybe they only come out after dark?

I won some money in the casino, and they have a Walkabout there so I caught some footy too. Can't say I saw the docks or bay areas, the Travelodge had all I needed Laugh

1. XBox or PS3?
2. Who do you support?
3. Sweetie boy or lotion man?
4. Bull's mum or Olly's mum?

Laugh I can't actually remember them

In-jokes Afro. I don't think Olly would get that either Laugh

Olly, JA606 is like the old 606 but once you've been here for a long time you can't handle the site layout. The leagues there are... shall we say.... very football orientated.

I will elaborate. There were far too many car dealerships.

You need to elaborate more than that! Maybe they just like Volvo's?

I got stuck in Stoke once due to car breaking down, there is litterally nothing there!

All they ever seem to be are Chelsea and Arsenal fans going on about how great some 13 year old wonderkid in their youth set up is.

Bognor is weird Laugh

My weirdest town to visit has to be Stafford. Its obviously close to Stoke, so any reasons Olly gives, plus the "out of the way" ness of it. Slightly creepy. And the stand behind the goal was 100% scaffolding.
