Not a great game by all accounts, bar the last quarter where the crowd picked up the atmosphere.

Don't read a match thread should be enough.maestegmafia wrote:Dont read a sports forum if you are trying to avoid a score...!
What does anyone gain from putting the score in the thread? Fock all. What harm does it do anyone to not have the score in the title? Fock all.
What's the problem?

Discipline. Seems Skirving and Taylor aren't learning their lessons! Heroic effort in defence by Fearns.
Thought Bath played most of the rugby to be fair, no tries conceded....just needless penalties!

Re: Bath 14 - 18 Saints Post Match thread...!
Barkley was the reason Bath lost.
Instead of looking for space and running with the ball in hand he thought it was clever to kick the ball repeatedly to Saints.
E.g. right at the end Bath had a 3-4 players waiting for Barkley to pass the ball outwide which would have been a walk in try. Instead he kicks it away again!
The rest of the Bath side tried hard but it didn't seem like Barkley was on the same wavelength.

And the Bath backrow were pretty poor without Louw.
Looking forward to seeing Louw and Fearns together they just need a quality 8 then.

Fearns is the 8, he's covering 6/7 due to absence of Louw. Mercer is 1st choice 7 when fit.

Ah fair enough, for some reason I thought Fearns was a 6 and Louw 7.

Yep, but he's been pretty consistently good since full fitness at the end of last season.

I must be going senile, as honestly I did not notice him. Watching with sound off does mess with your perception at times though.

Didn't do much flashy stuff, but was huge in defence, made a lot of tackles and didn't concede penalties. Hence why you probably didn't notice him!

17 is quite impressve- good effort. I haven't had a chance to watch the game, but may do tonight. Glad to see him back at full fitness, and getting decent game time. Pushing for AIs at all?

I didn't see much of him either. Most prominent Bath player was Abendanon IMO.

Depends how you watch the games lads! Bendy is always high profile because of the number of breaks and yards he makes.
