Boxing 606v2: Your Favorite Forum Moments Thus Far
Go on, just for kicks!
I want everyone to share one of their favorite 606v2 forum moments thus far.
For me, TRUSS leaving. I know, I know, it's an oldie, but a goodie.
Go, go go!!

SHEEP!! Without a doubt the most hilarity I've seen/had on this forum i.e. not including the old 606 stuff.
Sorry JM2, but there was something funny about you getting found out.....though not as funny as Il Giab's mullering of Gordy!!

Pity trash talk was banned. Maybe now, with more moderate mods, we might be allowed to have it back.......?

Trash talk for me as well.
I think it was felt it hampered the quality of the boxing chat. It was also very easy to over step the mark particularly when discussing the subject of how 'intact' Helen Mirren's box would still be.
Rugby guys have one. They're all quite pally though.

I’m afraid not, the amount of work that went into moderating it and running it could not be justified, also we should not and cannot lose sight of the fact that this is a sports forum and that does need to be the primary focus of the place, some off topic banter is inevitable and nobody wants to go all draconian on every example of it as was proven on the sheep thread but the balance always has to be that the bulk of chat on here has to be about boxing.

I'm bias but the "School Project MS Paint Art Gallery" was pure mental and turned into quite a warped photoshop area by the end but it was fun when it lasted.

Any of TRUSS's meltdowns (especially when confessed to having an extensive knowledge of Peter North's early career in gay porn), the hammering given to ADAD or DAVIDE's online suicide note...sadly that never bore any fruit but for a while I thought we might be in luck

Yeah how dare he. Just when you think you know and can trust someone bam that revelation...
Again from a biased point of view I did at times enjoy running sheep. It was a nice mix of boxing and banter and actually proved educational at times...

Apologies I cant remember who it was that came out with this corker...
But in a game of sheep the question was to name someone from any of the Rocky films.
The one person who's answer was Adrienne has got to be my favourite moment. Classic.
Again apologies for not remembering who said it!

Agreed with Sheep, when it first came out I was glued to my PC waiting for the answers! A proud winner once
It sounds depressing but when the news of Windy's passing came out it was touching to see all the lovely comments left by everyone. A board in unity for the first and probably only time ever.

Sheep was a highlight, these captions are funny, too. Gordy's discipline in wumming was annoyance and brilliance all in one.
Emore and his madness
The board has been humming like a well run Bmore drug corner lately, too, which I love.
Return of old faces like Rodders.
Respect shown for Windy, too. All great

When captain lost his nut against waingro when he said Duran was overrated
"Waingro, I normally try to avoid direct criticism of your peculiar brand of "thinking", but this is just one step too far.
Your knowledge of boxing can be written on the back of a postage stamp with room for the Lord's Prayer next door to it. You haven't the faintest idea about Duran, with the exception of about six fights, and you know nothing about all but a handful of boxers in any case. I don't mind people not knowing anything, as long as they are prepared to learn, but you continue to sound off ill-formed platitudes, half-truths and the most ignorant twaddle I've ever had the misfortune of reading. It wouldn't matter, but your ham-fisted and leaden prose now seems to seep over almost every thread. Please, please, PLEASE research something about a topic before posting on it; there's just a chance that you may end up better informed"
"The reason that people get fed up with you, Waingro, is that you persist in clinging to beliefs that are so ludicrous as to appear from another dimension. A lot of people here seem to think that you are mounting a calculated campaign of idiocy so as to ruin the board. I disagree - I think that you are probably a genuine fan of the sport, but one who doesn't actually know that much about it. As I have already said, that doesn't matter per se. Things become boring, though, when someone who is relatively ignorant persists in delivering ignorant opinions as though they are tablets of stone from Mount Sinai.
One of two explanations is possible: that you are either genuinely not the brightest spark in the grate, or that you are as stubborn as a mule. I prefer to believe that the latter is the case; however, patience is not an inexhaustible commodity, and I can only be bothered to try to make you see sense for so long before washing my hands of you completely, as so many others have already understandably done. Try to listen and learn, just a little bit. You never know, it might help you to enjoy boxing even more than you already do."

I was working abroad the first few months of this year and missed some of this action. Birdgate was excellent though (my wood and pecker retort to Truss remains a moment of personal pride!).

What is really worrying shah is the captain is by no means as sold on Duran as many on here, dread to think what would have happened had Waingro gone after Buchanan or someone the captain really loved.

I remember writing that about waingro, Shah, but since I returned from my sabbatical, I've never actually found out what happened to him. Did he leave of his own volition, was he revealed to be someone already known to us, or did a moderator's patience finally snap?
