Cardiff Blues vs Glasgow Warriors Sat 6th Oct 6:30pm
First topic message reminder :
Cardiff Blues vs Glasgow Warriors
When: Sat 6th October 6:30pm
Where: Cardiff Arms Park
Teams
Cardiff Blues: TBA
Glasgow Warriors: TBA
Warriors without DTH for 6 weeks, something that I'm sure will please the Blues fans on the board. Poor performances from both teams at the weekend and they'll be looking to make amends this week.

Not trying to wind up - as I said I questioned if it was cause it was close to the line? Sounds like it was.
Harsh free kick that in the 22 against the Blues - sounded like the ref said set before they engaged.

Fans off home before the 73rd minuite again, 8 minutes better than last week I suppose!!!

30-21 Leinster. Maybe too much to do, but a LBP at the RDS would be an amazing result.maestegmafia wrote:Munster back in it in Dublin. Conner Murray try

FairPlay Glasgow are a good side. But blues hace been struggling this game. The referee has showed little chance for either team to play the game they set out to.

Toulon have Carl Hayman and Gethin Jenkins on the bench. We are going to be slaughtered. Just try to keep the score under 100.

Why hasn't Niko been on the pitch before rather than Pyrgos who is neither a Scotland international, nor a regular starter?RDW_Scotland wrote:The flying Fijian is on for Glasgow - this guy has electric pace!
Oh, I know. Because we're managed by attacking rugby's finest servant, Gregor Towsend.

I think you will fine the greatest attacking rugby mind on the planet is quite clearly Gareth Baber, he has 3 years of evidence.

I would be great full for a loss...
To be honest they came out at half time trying to play great rugby and had it penalised out of them.
An awful game.
Well done Glasgow. Though they had little to do to win this match.
Snr Guiseppi I hope we don't have to watch your refereeing again for a long time.

nothing taken away from glasgow, they came to do a job and well won the game.
Don't want to focus on the ref, but from what Ive seen from the blues this season we are extremely limited in just about all areas, it's only a matter of time before Roberts, cuthbert and 1/2p all take better contracts and well from my point of view we might as well be Cardiff RFC posing as a region.

So 2 Italian refs make their debut, and both have suspect performances! The Rabbo shouldn't' be used as a development tool for referees.

Please S4C and BBC2W please don't put the Blues on the box, can we have premiership rugby on instead, it is more entertaining and it will save the TV companies cash for better entertainment.
Is it time to kick out Phil Davies before Roberts, Halfpenny, Cuthbert and Bradley Davies find other contrats elsewhere.

Re: Cardiff Blues vs Glasgow Warriors Sat 6th Oct 6:30pm
Very pleasing win for Glasgow, so much more controlled than last week (albeit rather different team).
Makes a nice change to see Glasgow doing the basics right for a change, kept the scoreboard ticking over, dealt with restarts, and hassled and harried the Blues.

Was Wee Fat Mike really MoM ? Brills !!!!! Barclay is back to his belligerent best. Jacko -the pressure is off so go for it. Peter Horne 6/7 super duper mate. Henry Pyrgos - that was good . We are third in the league ffs

Re: Cardiff Blues vs Glasgow Warriors Sat 6th Oct 6:30pm
Cardiff looked completely devoid of confidence in everything but the lineout tbh. Their scrum was an absolute mess -it did improve with replacements but not by much. Was Roberts playing - totally anonymous but he has been out for a while.
Henry Pyrgos was good and it looks like we will now have a 4 way fight for the 9 jersey when Cusiter comes back as Matawalu looked sharp and Sean Kennedy had a belter last week. Schlong looked busy last night as did Hoggy when he came on. Best for me was Jackson - he was defensively massive and with kicking pressure off (well done Peter Horne) gave a very assured performance at FH. Mike Cusack is quickly becoming a folk hero in Glasgow's West End. He destroyed the Cardiff scrum and I counted 4 penalties he won/earned. I thought John Barclay was Glasgow's best player as he fronted up and tackled anything that moved. Strauss is going to be a good signing too - big ball carrier. 4 points fought for and now 4 from 6 including 2 wins in Wales.

Can anyone tell me why somebody thought it was a good idea to get Phil Davies to coach the blues? The bloke has been an AWFUL coach wherever he has been, and it really annoys me how he refuses to front up and acknowledge dreadful performances, instead coming out with dreadful cliches all the time. Get rid of him Blues before it's too late FFS!!!

Re: Cardiff Blues vs Glasgow Warriors Sat 6th Oct 6:30pm
Not really sure what Cardiff's tactics were last night The Warriors performance was right out of Taylor's defensive manual - must mention Lineen/ Mercer here too as they coached most of those players in previous seasons in terms of defensive discipline. Did not see much of Townsend's coaching so maybe someone has seen sense and ignored him ! Forwards were all immense last night.
