Someone needs to come in and slap each player across the face. Throwing away the chance for a bonus point win like this is disgraceful.

3 tries in 30 minutes and they still cant get a TBP, and now will be lucky to get a win.

PRETORIOUS IS AN IDIOT.
Runs into 4 Sale playing in his half with Halfpenny there who could have kicked it!

Not only did they go for the 3 points but they carried on kicking it down field. That's Sales first win of the season. H-cup, you could argue, is Blues lifeline this season. Now I'm sorry but this game is nothing short of shockingly disgusting. Fans and players should be ashamed.

How on earth can you have such a lead with 3 brilliantly taken tries in 20 minutes and go to playing such awful rugby in the 2nd half?

Sale win

AWFUL!
There goes any hope the Blues had in the HC.
Danny Ciprini get MOTM from the bench.
Pretorious does not deserve to be captain, terrible decision making in the last 10 minutes.
Really terrible second half from the Blues.
HC over, we can't even beat a team who are 0/6 this season.

Cipriani set up 2 tries for Sale and gave them all the momentum.
Blues were dire defensively.

Blues had to win this game, Sale are rubbish and haven't come close to winning a game all season until today. I would have to say thats probably the Blue out of the HK as the other teams in the group will fancy beating Sale home and away.
Fair play to Cips, he turned the game around. It was an exciting game, however a game played by two very poor sides.

wales 606 why are you so angry? what were you expecting you lost 4-5 ov your pack last season including your best player over the last 6 years in rush. Unless you can somehow gather a pack rom somewhere get used to these results

Halfpenny penalty from behind halfway in the last minute on account of the Blues having 0% territory in the Toulon half.
Gethin Jenkins to score 3 tries from the bench then spend the rest of the match on the touchline laughing.

Brilliant! Well done Sale! They needed a break in their poor run, hopefully this will be the catalyst that gets their season going.
Cipriani also showed why he's described as mercurial, he was brilliant when he came on. Sale suddenly started to look dangerous.

Would you be angry if your team couldn't win after being 3 tries up against a team who couldn't buy a win this season?
Blues still have 2 regular Wales players in the pack aswell as the capped Lou Reed and young talents like Navidi. We also have an all international back division!

id be angry that they had thrown that lead away yes, but i wouldnt be expecting to win away against an english pack especially giving how theblues (other than against the dragons) have been beat up ront in almost every game this season

Gavin, Blues fans don't have to setttle for meiocrity like you will so why don't you get off their case?
Anyway suppose I should congratulate Sale on getting their first win. So well done Sale, it took a lot to come back from that deficit and they did it.

But thats just it though, they showed glimpses of good attack, and built up a good lead and just let it crumble, fair play to Ciprianni though he did make an impact.

im just trying to inpart a bit ov realism on my east walian brethren. 606 is right the blues d have a handy backline. But they only decide by how many the game is won by, up to the pack to lat the platorm and they blues tight 5 are acking atm so their supporters should be more realistic in their expectations imo

Re: Sale Sharks vs Cardiff Blues
Overall not the ideal start for the regions in Europe. Only the O's turning in a satisfactory performance. Blues have a lot of pieces to pick up after spurning a great chance to open on a win. It's a shame to see the talents and efforts of men like Cuthbert coming to nothing under circumstances like these.

Re: Sale Sharks vs Cardiff Blues
What can I say, in manchester about to drown my sorrows, pretorious should be shot for going at goal late on, 1/2p, Davies, Roberts should all be old and bold enough to have said no though!!!!
Can't believ Cipriani is getting so much hype, poor Mcloud hit his goals and saw such little ball it's nuts, hen when Cips gets on the Sale pack took total control, Cipriani simply had time, space and all the options in the world with that armchair he came on to, and he still threw the ball dead, left gaps to play marked men in etc...
Blues are a joke, they best thing to do now is trim the squad to the bare bones and use the next few seasons as developmental, get the kids into the squad and get them some experience!!!

Re: Sale Sharks vs Cardiff Blues
It's the same as ever, Blues like the other regions are not lacking for talent and potential in their ranks. I'm afraid that if they did trim down they'd be wasting and setting back a lot of that potential.
The mystery remains as to the chasm between performances for Wales and performances for the regions. The way I see it there are two explanations and the answer is likely a bit of both. One is down to player inconsistency and the other to coaching strategies and motivation not matching that of the national squad. You may cite other elements such as poor crowds in comparison to the national following and the regional debacle as a whole but I'm not sure that plays a big part in the moment.
At least Cuthbert looks to have broken the trend of succumbing to second season syndrome. Superb start to the season from him, one of the only bright lights in the dark blue...

Potential Knowsit?
You mean like Fillise, Borrust, Kryciou, Mafi, Trevett, Down, Paterson, Sweeney, Evans, etc... all in their mid late 20's/30's!!!
IMO Andrews, Dacey, Cook, Hamilton, Patchell, and Allen could all fill in for these guys and get beat week in week out like these guys are, but at least the youngsters would gain from it (not to mention be far cheaper)
And while we're at it rumours that Mafi, Borrust and Kryciou are all earning more than Yapp is at Embra and Thomas at wasps...

Re: Sale Sharks vs Cardiff Blues
No, I was thinking more along the obvious lines of Cuthbert, Roberts, Warburton, Bradley Davies, Lloyd Williams, Halfpenny etc. Would you not consider them all players with established talent and potential still to be tapped into considering their average age?
Same as Dragons have national tokens Lydiate and Faletau among their ranks, yet their progress seems equally slow, if you can call it progress that is.
What makes the difference? How is it that Wales can have these players and win Grand Slams yet the regions can have the same players and just discover various ways of making us cringe? That's what I meant when talking about a chasm between performances before you named a list of players I wasn't even thinking of.

Re: Sale Sharks vs Cardiff Blues
Knowsit, when I mentioned stripping the wage budget obviously the best WQ players wouldn't be among them, you build a team kids around these key players, it's the list I gave that can be trimmed easily and the named players could come in and gain from it.
The international players cannot perform the same way with a scrum in retreat, how does Roberts, Cuthbert and 1/2p effect that? They can't. When the Blues front row gives matches away the backline can't effect things!!
So no the regional problems are not the ints not performing, it's the lack of quality around them.

Just watched the highlights on S4C, is it me Tom James should be kicked out of the squad he simply rubbish and costing the blues with his defence and and lack of vision. The blues defence is dire slipping tackles, they look like the scarlets two years ago, is there a link?
