I've gone for Antonio Cesaro who has been quietly been doing some great work in the midcard of the WWE.

Bobby Roode for me. Had a great title run, really established himself as a main event heel and had a brilliant rivalry with Storm

Even as a WWE fan, even as a Bobby Roode fan when I catch TNA, I can't look past Kevin Steen. When you talk about purely the last 12 months, Kevin Steen must be one of the favourites to win the whole thing!

This is a really hard one to call, three quality guys from three different organisations in Roode, Cesaro and Steen.
Steen by a gnats whisker got my vote.
Did someone slip with their finger on the vote for Tensai?

Steen gets my vote.
If he was given the exposure TNA or WWE could offer, he'd be a favourite to win the whole thing like Marky says.

I haven't heard of Steen, so can only vote on what I have seen and I voted for Roode. His title run was brilliant and showed that he is deserving in the main event scene in TNA.

I've voted Cesaro, purely becuase I've not seen enough ROH to pass judgement on Steen, and Roode bores me.

I like how his name on this poll is 'Booby' Roode.

When for Cesaro, I just think whatever this guy does is absolute gold, since leaving ROH he's hit the ground running in the WWE and embraced FCW before moving rather quickly up the card

Re: V2 WWC 2012 Round 1 Group 2
I am yet to watch much ROH, and Roode really disappeared in the time I've been watching TNA, and I don't think he did anything spectacular in the few matches I have seen of him, so the sensational Mr Cesaro gets my vote. If it was something I was less inclined to enjoy I'd probably have not voted so as not to be unfair on Steen and Roode, but Cesaro has been all kinds of fantastic to watch, legitimising an area of the wwe that had long gone stale.

I think Roode is excellent but I think TNA absolutely killed everything he built up a year ago and he's not improved one bit since, I don't blame him at all but the shambolic booking of the World Title scene last year didn't do him or his charcter any favours

Re: V2 WWC 2012 Round 1 Group 2
While I agree high profile candidates both in terms of championship sucess (Roode and Steen) and mainstream platforms (Cesaro) have had great years, I'm going to use this oppertunity to give a little shout out to a personal favorite of mine, and in my opinion one of the most underrated wrestlers going today, El Generico.
Firstly my thoughts on Roode, while I agree he is very talented and has done some great work this year, his war with Storm just this week being a highlight, I feel his reign got off to a flat and confusing start, given the triumphment babyface victory we were all expecting, although it was well salvaged, from memory his BFG 11 match and first couple of title defences weren't all they could be given they were against talents of the calibre of Angle and Styles, still Bobby really hit his stride in the mid part of the year and was doing some excellent heel work, though the rise of Aries, surprise loss of the title, and off-screen sabbatical took a lot out of the momentum of his slow burn fued with Storm, though the match we got in the end was undeniably fantastic.
As for Steen, he's been a bit of a conundrum, one of the unique performers in the world today with the way he shifts his bulk around and his complete devotion to his unhinged character, my only criticisms of him since his return to ROH are that his matches, paticuarly on PPV and particuarly early in his return with Jacobs, were very gimmick heavy and at times over indulgent, plus the lack of a defined feud with the exception of Jim Cornette and a slow, slow, burner with Generico work against him in that department.
And that brings me on to the man with whom Steen is almost inextricably linked with, and the man that gets my vote, El Generico.
He probably hasn't got many votes (I don't look at the votes before posting as a general rule so I'm not influenced), but Generico is quietly becoming one of the best performers in the entire world, obviously I haven't seen every Generico match for the whole year but the man has churned out a seriously high quality of performances over the past year, some of the highlights include, A ladder match for the PWG Title vs Steen, an awesome trilogy with Samuary del Sol in Evolve and a consistently entertaining reign as ROH TV Champ, for my money probably the most underrated guy going today and one of the bigger promotions (particuarly TNA for the X Division) could do with snapping him up.

That was neck and neck all day for second place but by just one vote Antonio Cesaro pips steen and joins group winner bobby Roode in round 2. Sorry steen fans!
