I am talking to the runners about two options I have suggested. I am sure they will let you know which one they have chosen in due course.

Do you guys reckon it's worth getting the new football manager?

I already have 2012 but I never quite got into it. I don't know why, maybe it was the results not going my way...

Sorry to hear that Twist.

I feel the league is meandering a bit aimlessly atm and I can understand anyone who has lost interest, but it is still a shame to lose someone like you. I just hope its not because I wouldn't sell you Matip and Afellay Sad

When time allows and I finally set it up, I will forever remember you as the man who brought Amiga games back into my life!!

Really? I'm surprised by that, from my perspective there's plenty of contribution from everyone, tactics and results are done on time, people are doing TPs...about the only thing that hasn't worked is domestics, but even those are picking up now.

I think we need a game of TwisT-themed SHEEP, to honour our fallen comrade.

No arguments from me there. Sensi Soccer on the mega drive was the first console game I ever played, in the HMV in Solihull. Won 11-2 with France vs Switzerland, then made my mum buy me a mega drive there and then Laugh

The Mega Drive version was the poor relation to the Amiga one.

I remember getting demo from the front of an Amiga magazine with various novelty versions. You could play the 1966 World Cup final, there was one where both teams wore the same kit so you didn't know which players were yours.

But in the best one, the ball was a grenade that started flashing and then exploded throughout the game. Any player within range was killed and you slowly started to get down to a 5 v 5. You basically tried to kick it at the opposition keeper so that it exploded whilst he held it.

I wouldn't go that far. It is showing signs of deals beginning, so just needs people to keep negotiating, not sitting back and doing none.

Your just a newbie. Imagined if you'd been banned and let back into the league despite some reluctance from a lot. Then you'd probably make a bit more effort than that

Wilshere comes back after one game and everyone is rating him like Messi, he ain't even on Cleverlys level let alone Scholes.

Sodhat maybe a Kevin Keegan style return instead.

If it's a Keegan return, he'll just quit again.

Wilshere is miles ahead of Cleverley as a player, even though he is younger. He has good experience already and if he can stay fit, he is probably going to be someone to build the England team around. Need more like him.

Have to agree with that, I would say a lot of reluctance from others. Zidane you are new to the v2forum, you are yet to understand our History and traditions, we fight for the badge at the top of the site not the name on top of our posts. I hope you will learn the ways of V2 you remind me of that kid that used to play for United who joined West Ham and then went on loan to Birmingham City.

Wilshere was already above Scholes level before he got injured. His injuries weren't the kind that is going to take that ability away.

England will build their team around him and I wouldn't even be surprised if he was Xavi's replacement at Barca.

I have noticed that United fans seem to have these blinkers about him, when everyone else can see how good he actually is.

I am not wumming when I say that although Scholes is a truely great player, before his injuries, I thought Wilshere was already better than Scholes had been at his peak (ability wise). I am confident that he will continue that and only get better.

I only doubt I will make and transfers all season as A) I drafted these players as I wanted them. B) I wont sell my players. C) No money to buy anyone.
So I will go the whole season slowly building up money from bonuses and then hope for a nice cash injection ready for Season 2.

Wilshere hasn't done much for Arsenal in the past year, I would rather have Kevin Nolan in my side then an Owen Hargreaves version of Lionel Messi. Whats the point of having these players when they can't play for you. Wilshere will soon be found out, a good English player but not on the level of the top players.

Why not? Why can't you form an opinion based on what you saw before his injuries.

But I wasn't talking about you specifically. A couple of United fan mates just talk him down whenever his name comes up.

For me he was a class above, so even if he is only 80% the player, I think he will still be better than Cleverley. But there is no reason why he would be 80% the player as his injuries are not muscle related and therefore highly unlikely to make him a worse player.

I did. It's not that I don't rate Scholes highly. He was a great, great player and at his peak, the best CM of his generation.

But Wilshere, for me, is on another level again.

Not a WUM, just my opinion, but I stand by it.

We'll have to agree to disagree. One bad period of injuries doesn't make you injury prone. If it continues then I accept, but none of his recent injuries appear to be the kind that reoccur.

In the past Scholes has been praised by the likes of Xavi, but he has never actually outperformed them. Wilshere did that in the CL game a couple of years ago. it was just a shame that beyond him, RVP and Fabregas, the rest were not good enough.

Send sheep to Azzy.

I don't really want to set-up a new league, I would prefer to keep going with this one.

I probably won't go back to a realistic league again tbh having done this draft version, and I think it has enough legs to make it worth putting the effort into this.

I am not wumming when I say that although Scholes is a truely great player, before his injuries, I thought Wilshere was already better than Scholes had been at his peak (ability wise). I am confident that he will continue that and only get better.
Thats is a big giant smelly pile of horse poop!!!

Wilshire so far in his career played very well against Rangers in a pre season cup. Please tell me what else stand out has be done?
My god Afro if you really mean your statement above I fully believe someone knocked your head last night while you were trick or treating.

I agree with Jafro, this is much better than a realistic league, because they soon become so unrealistic that everyone moans and asks for a re-start.

Who do I send sheep answers to? And I can agree with a few others about the concerns for the league, how would you guys feel about setting up a realistic league?

Send sheep to Azzy.

I don't really want to set-up a new league, I would prefer to keep going with this one.

I probably won't go back to a realistic league again tbh having done this draft version, and I think it has enough legs to make it worth putting the effort into this.

Where has all this talk of starting a new league come from? I'm enjoying this leauge, I reckon as soon as there is a little bit more money floating around domestics will pick up

I do mean it. Juts because you don't agree doesn't mean its wrong.

They must have been giving away Young Player of the Year awards if he didn't do anything else standout apart from a preseason game.

England debut at 19, played and acquitted himself very well against the all-conquering Barca midfield.

I personally don't put him ahead of Scholes at the moment. He may make it there one day because I think he is a more complete player, in that he can operate higher up, or from deeper. Scholes is a 20 year pro, and he is still appalling at tackling.

No danger of a reset Russ. We've just started it!
It was like this early last year too. Once cash becomes more available, and more people take note of feedback it will pick up properly.

Scholes was 30+ no legs when he came up against one of the greatest Football teams ever. An he was one of the few players from that United team that could walk with his head help up.

Wilshere is a good player and can become a very good Footballer but no way will he be better then Scholes I don't think he will be better then Gerrard.

Thanks Sod. It is all opinion. I respect what you think regards Scholes being above Wilshere. I can understand why people think that way round because Scholes was great, so I am not going to come on and call it Poopie.

BTW Wilshere outshone the Barca midfield, not just acquitted himself

I understand its your opinion and ive never said this before but you are WRONG.
Jermaine Jenas & James Milner won young player of the year. I rest my case.
