I do mean it. Juts because you don't agree doesn't mean its wrong.

They must have been giving away Young Player of the Year awards if he didn't do anything else standout apart from a preseason game.
I understand its your opinion and ive never said this before but you are WRONG.
Jermaine Jenas & James Milner won young player of the year. I rest my case.

James Milner is a current Premier League champion Whistle

In the first Euro Division season, transfers started off slow so Hero decided to give everyone a £10m boost. Just saying.

So did Ronaldo, Fabregas, Ashley Young, Rooney twice. You said that he had done nothing to stand out, but then he had done enough to standout and win the award beating Bale and Chicharito who had both also had really good seasons.

I don't think I am wrong, so we are all happy Ok!

You are allowed your opinion Afro but the way you are rating Wilshere is like he is in the same bracket as Ronaldo no scratch that he is the best player ever. I fully expect Wilshere by the age of 23 to be the best midfielder and player in the world. If he is already better then Scholes at the age of 18 in 5 years time he should be the best player ever in world Football History.

I have never said Wilshere is in the same bracket as Ronaldo and never said he is going to be the best player ever.

You are taking your own assumptions on Scholes rating there and making out they are mine

Scholes is the best player it's people like you and Afro that have held English Football back and why we haven't done anything of note since 1966, you tend to ignore the rare gems we have that can pass the ball and compete with the Spanish and Brazilians. Players like Scholes don't come around all the time especially in our country where the emphasis is shoot and hoof and kick and run around.

Steven Gerrard is a more complete player then Zidane, Messi, Ronaldinho etc. I won't lie and say Scholes is the complete box to box king where he does everything. Players like Wilshere and Gerrard and jack of all trades, they can tackle, shoot pass blah blah but to a certain level wheras Scholes he is an expert in his field.

Keep wishing on Gerrard and Wilsheres to be the greatest with that mindset the future for English Football is bleak, another 20 years and teams such as Japan, Chile, South Korea, Ivory Coast will all be better then us.

Wilshere has played two seasons of Football and you rate him higher then Scholes (at hispeak) who has played 19 seasons of Football. If you rate Wilshere so high at the age of 20, rate him higher then one of the greatest Footballers ever and the greatest midfielder in England then surley by the age of 23 he should be the best ever.

I didn't see anyone rate Ronaldo that high at 18 infact it was the opposite "Figo wannabe" "One trick Pony" by 23 Ronaldo was top 20 best players in the world but Ronaldo never had the tag of being better then Giggs at 20. So going by that Wilshere should be the best in 3 years if he is already better then a peak Scholes.

Wilshire is no where near the standards of most of the names you have just mentioned.
Cesc, Ronnie, Rooney all looked like they were going to be World Class Stars. Wilshire does not. He lookED a very good talent. After 17 months out you are wrong to rate rate him so highly. I think you looking through some blinkered view like a deluded Arsenal does. He has great technique and two great feet. but he is not the saviour for them nor for England.

It will be an hour of "you are entitled to your opinion, but I'll hammer away anyway because I have a different and strong opinion"
Well id says ita a pointless discussion of opinions normally but this time around we are actually really trying to help you Afro.

Wilshere is a decent passer of the ball, not anything special he does misplace a lot and does not have the cutting edge ball in the final third. Britton is a small scale of what we need to produce, you can't expect the likes of Xavi and Iniesta from the next batch of youngsters coming through.

If I said that about all English players you'd have a point but I didn't I don't rate most of our English players on the same level as the Spanish etc. Paul Scholes is on the same level as the truley greatetsb players, not many can rival him.

Hard to leave Gerrard out too.

I forgot about Gazza, but then you couldn't really have Charlton and Gazza.

There is a lot of decent players to choose from. Scholes, Wilshere, Gerrard, Platt, Ince could all have easily been in there for me

But I bet Jack Wilshere could beat all three (In thier peak) on his own.

I heard Jack Wilshere beat up Mohammed Ali, Chuck Norris, The Rock and Bruce Lee on his own, while they were all masters in their combat sport and at the highest level ever in thier careers he should walked in and beat them.

I just can't get over that you rate wilshere who has played about 53 premier league games over Paul Scholes in his peak.

But thats because of your rating of Scholes. if you come at it from my rating of Scholes is probably easier.

Also, it's not about how many games, it is about pure ability. I thought I made that point at the very beginning.

If I had to select a team to play a match for me and I could only have one of Scholes or Wilshere, I would be more than happy with either, but I could easily select Scholes because his experience in the game and the matches he has played in, brings something Wilshere doesn't yet have. But as I said, I am going on pure technical ability.

Scholes, Zidane and Xavi.

Got to be Engrrish Viva.

It just said to play for England, nothing about their nationalities.

Scholes, Charlton, Ince.

Now you're just being a dick

So who is the best pound for pound English central midfielder in history?

I am going on what I have seen, and what I like in footballers, so I am with the mighty Gascoigne.

Do you mean, who would be the first one you would select.

I would say Robson. Not an obvious choice, but I have always thought he had everything and was a true leader too.

We could really do with someone like him in the current side

Aren't you glad you saved it for teaching Viva that Xavi & Zidane wasn't English in a pick 3 players for a centre midfield of all time for England question.

I hope your 20,000th post is explaining that 20 duck sized horses cannot be used in an ultimate Royal Rumble of past competitors.

I would love it if he was MoM now!

I don't know, but a midfield trio of Arteta, Wilshere and Cazorla, is pretty well up there in the PL for me.

Nope. I don't think he is fit enough. I was surprised he didn't play midweek to get match time, but at the weekend, he started to fade just after half time

So where do you rate Scholes? Above average player who got lucky playing for Man Utd? If you are going on tekkers then Scholes destroys Wilshere in my opinion. A lot of techniqie comes through practise and experience which Wilshere lacks at the moment. Natural talent yeah Wilshere does have but when we're looking at the top end of natural talent in England he don't come close to Rooney. I really hope Wilshere becomes the top player we hope for the sake of English Football.
