Cracking turnover for Samoa but the pass is intercepted and Wales get a try. Poor pass by the no.10 and that is a gift for Wales. Single-handedly destroyed all their defensive work for the first 33 minutes.

Rubbish refereeing, I suppose no one who is welsh noted the infringement at the breakdown before the intercept.

Pretty sure Faletau should have been penalised at the ruck before the intercept...

Halfpenny lines up again and he's now on 202 points on test duty.
Ashley Beck is a happy man. 13-7 is probably about right. Samoa doing a lot more kicking than running, They're not getting anywhere. At the moment.

Oh...so British audiences prefer biased commentators. Glad youve clarified that for me.

Oh come on when do you hear any commentators saying "come on charge it down its been 10 seconds charge it down"

Good intercept Wales- though only way to score tries for some these days.

Samoa kick away possession again in attack and Halfpenny returns them with interest. They're going nowhere at the moment except occupying the middle of the park.

Census Jonson does a barnstormer. More rumbling around.
Some rocket flyer tackles going in on the Welsh as would be expected. Someone's gonna get hurt.

Hard luck Biggar. Cleanouts have the potential to to have very serious injuries, so agree with Davies there, particularly when the player isnt expecting it/ braced.
Very unfortunate side of the game.

Getting scrappy again.
Losing Hibbard and Biggar the 2 most in form players in the team :/
And I can't see either recovering to play NZ or Aus.

It was ugly, but legal. It was just a case of a massive lock cleaning out a fly half

Clearing out at the ruck - citable?
Samoa still tussling in the Welsh 22. And in from the side byWales and its another penalty to Samoa. Maybe Pisi prefers the left. Last kick before the whistle.
And he nails it.
13-10.
All to play for in the second. Squeaky bums in Cardiff. Wonder how good Howley is at firing rockets?

I hope the citing commisioner has a look at the shoulder on Hibbard and that shoulder on Biggar. It's one thing being physical, but it has to be within the laws for god's sake.
Samoa deserve to be ahead. Everything about our play is shockingly bad. Yes even defence mr Edwards.

Good kick to take us to HT, 13-10. Samoa the better team so far, particularly going forward and at the breakdown. Should be a great second half.

Savage forearm with intent, that's not a sport I'm interested if that's deemed ok.
Can't see why we chuck them the cash to be honest. If they can't behave, they should be left out in the cold.

Well at half time Ryan Jones might as well be wearing Blue!!!
James has made a few positional errors, and Tipuric non existant (as I said he would be)
We havn't got into Samoans 22 once to their 7, we have offered nothing up front, nothing going forward and look clueless!!
As I said beforehand everything Howley does has been wrong again, 8 changes were wrong, and the players look shaken!

Interesting half. Typical Wales Samoa game I'm used to seeing. For some reason this particular match up has appeal every time its played. Seem to remember these meetings more than any other NH- SH meeting other than our own.

The tackle and the clean out we're fine, they may look at the forearm to the back of Hibbards head

Phillips, Biggar, Beck and Halfpenny the standouts in the backs
Hibbard was the only standout in the forwards, unfortunately he's off now.
Tipuric playing fairly well though.
The second half is going to be worrysome without Biggar and Hibbard on the pitch.
I hope we see Gethin, Charteris and perhaps Warburton off the bench.

Samoa should start using there arms in the tackle, nothing but shoulders so far,
If that was a South African everyone would be calling thug and the IRB would give a massive ban.

Have Samoa really been that good?
They've been quick at the breakdown but have continually gone off their feet and been penalised, Wales have benefited twice from it. Beyond the first minute try, Samoa haven't really threatened the try line since.
Someone asked earlier if this match would show whether Argentina were very good last week, or were Wales just poor?
Any takers?

The tackle on Hibbard was a shoulder charge, arms weren't used. It's an offence. The second was a ruck, I'm not too sure myself if it is worth a citing or not. They deemed Botha's charge on Adam Jones to be worth it though and it's the same 'clearout.'

Yep, his breakdown/tackle work was very good in the middle 20 minutes when Wales were on the backfoot - doing well to recycle the ball.
Ryan Jones had a bad half, I expect him to turn it around - if not, I would put Warbs on for him at 60. If Ryan improves then I would take Tips off unless he is a standout in the second half.
