Pisi's territorial kicking has been sublime and the Samoan forwards have been physical. Aside from that they have been a little inaccurate with missed kicks, penalties at breakdown, and an intercept try. They've allowed Wales to compose themselves

Tips has been non existant, and in this game he was always going to be non existant.
IMHO 120 minutes against limited opposition (no offence) and not 1 line break, or 22 visit. VERY WORRYING!!!

Taylorman, this game is only on welsh tv, not across the whole of GB. I think that's why the commentary is a bit more biased. During the 6N you tend to get a commentator from one of the nations playing and then a pundit/co-commentator from the other nation. Here, we just have the main commentator and JD as the co-commentator, and he is brought in for that very reason - to give the ex player welsh point of view to the welsh audience. If people are choosing to surf the channels to pick up welsh tv then fair enough, but I don't think it should be slated too much. I don't turn on American Football from the states and expect a British flavour!

We'll see what wales are made of by how they come out for the 2nd half, if they are lacklustre, and docile ala the last 120 minutes they are beaten.
If they come out eyes on stalks, and get into the physical stuff they have a chance!

Griff, Davies is always biased, irrespective of the Audience, he doesn't know how not to be biased.Griff wrote:Taylorman, this game is only on welsh tv, not across the whole of GB. I'm watching on S4C, as far as I can tell the commentary's been fine, if gibberish.

Can't see why we chuck them the cash to be honest. If they can't behave, they should be left out in the cold.
I agree. If we are playing a nation that is poorer than ours then they should be made to toe the line.

I'd argue Bradley has been our best forward by a mile, very physical at the breakdown and picking and going making yardage

Halfpenny having an excellent game. We just need some of our forwards to have one, Mike Phillips is a better forward than most of them at the moment.

BBC, DO something about Davies' voice FFS. Give him a lozenge or a drop of whiskey & honey. Or preferably an extra-strength sleeping-tablet. Its grating.

Second half, and Samoa continue where they left off fouling at the breakdown.
Kick takes Wales upfield. Easy taken the lineout and ball moves out. Wales secure and go through a couple more phases. Another breakdown and Samoa win the ball but ref gives Welsh scrum confusingly.

Re: Wales vs Samoa KO 19:30 Fri 16th Nov - Match Thread/Build Up etc....
Bil, that's sort of my point. Here in the UK and Ireland the way we seem to present rugby, e.g. The 6N, is to have someone from each nation to represent their country. So, on 6 weekend you'll see JD, Keith Wood, Andy Nicol and Jeremy Guscott, all 4 'home' nations. No coincidence that those pundits commentate on their own game. They're there to be the spokesman for their country. If it's done differently in your neck of the woods then so be it. More than one way to skin a cat.

Lol, Wales take the ball up the middle and Davies says "go on", then Wales knock the ball on and Davies says nothing. Might as well get a Welsh fan in the commentary box.

Fair enough. Its not the point of view I was annoyed at, its more the willing the players on from the box at a personal level. Try Samoa?
