606v2 Ian Poulter Fan Club
I know there are a lot of IP fans here, and so I have undertaken to set up a fan club dedicated to the great man! Its still in the embryonic stages but the plan at the moment is to have a monthly newsletter via a blog on the golf board. This will consist of chat, quizzes, Ian trivia, quotations and any other such items that will allow us to share our appreciation of history's greatest athlete.
How do you join? Well simply post on the blog, the more the merrier!
This month's Poultrys Corner question is: what is your favourite Smarmy Pants moment? (if there are too many then list your top 5 or 10)
* Haters welcome. Have a nice day.

The IJP fan club will give my pants some relief as I reckon they will need changing every few minutes in the Tiger fan club.
Damn got a semi just thinking about it.

I think he's great, there'll be Yanks at the moment hoping to make the RC Team at Gleneagles and hoping already that they won't have to face Poults in a head to head.
Whilst others may be in the autumn of their careers I think the best of IJP is yet to come.
Good thread Digs

Too easy.. I think we should all grow facial hair to match his chinstrap.. and since I'm not 12 (I wonder will this childish insult get deleted here like it did in the Tiger one), I will be able to achieve this in a number of days.
Now, which is the best emoticon for irony so there is no confusion?

Sorry, can I apologise for anyone offended by my last post regarding Shane Lowry. I would like to make it clear that no Irishmen were intended to be offended in the making of the comment and that the comment was intended as an attack on all fat people...not just fat leprechauns.

Re: 606v2 Ian Poulter Fan Club
Favourite Poulter memory? Where to start... Well there was that birdie he had once, then there was the time he shouted at the cameraman that was pretty cool, then there was the time he shouted at that other cameraman that was pretty sick, then there was that one time he reached a par 5 in TWO shots, yes TWO!! So to answer your question it was the time he wore the arsenal jersey.

I have a right handed one that works quite well using your left hand provided you stand on your head!

Something to cover all bases in all threads: favourite moment was in 2009 (i think) when Tiger corrected an interviewer and said Poulter was number 2 in the world
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cm8NnoSHjr8&feature=related
2nd favourite: when he fell over at Finca Cortesin...

Re: 606v2 Ian Poulter Fan Club
Had a bit of an overload of Poulter in print yesterday.
The Evening Standard had a full page article / interview with him. Not particularly revealing or controversial though I don't think.
Latest edition of Golf World came through the letterbox too, which included his usual column. I imagine that a few people probably expect the monthly submission simply repeats "I love myself", but it's usually quite interesting. Mostly about golf in China this time (with honourable mentions of his WGC win and aftermath of Ryder Cup). One of the sidebar soundbites says he suffered from Rory-itis during the WGC, and was close to being late for his 3rd round(?) tee time before scoring ridiculously well [65 or whatever it was].
Knowing that some of you are fans, over the page from Ian's column, Geoff Ogilvy talks about changes in his life - moving back to Arizona / splitting from longtime caddie.

And it continues.
Discovered this evening that Golf Punk magazine was resurrected a couple of months ago in an interactive online format. Poulter is on the cover and featured in the first issue.

I would like Poulter more if that rancid, irritating chick on soccer am didnt go on about him so much.
He is not the worst I suppose. I did enjoy how he once said
"Don't get me wrong, I really respect every professional golfer, but I know I haven't played to my full potential and when that happens, it will be just me and Tiger".
That was funny.
