Thoughts?
All i can say is how harsh can you get? FA Cup and Champions league, as well as assembling a great squad together.

Not surprising. Not that good a manager imo, and Abramovich clearly saw him as a stop gap but was forced to make him manager after his success last season which was pretty lucky tbh.
Think Chelsea will be better off with a Benitez for the short term

Re: Roberto Di Matteo sacked
I'm not a Chelsea fan but an admirer from a far and all I can say is rom is ruining that football club it's rotten to the core, sacking rdm is a complete joke! The owner is so far removed from what it actually takes to run a successful team on the pitch, he is far too obsessed with instant gratification. I thought the sacking of AC and AVB were disgraces but this takes the biscuit! He needs to concentrate on making Chelsea a successful business off the pitch which is obviously where his talents are and let football people concentrate on getting things right on the pitch. Arsenal, man utd and even city to some extent are a testament to that philosophy, giving a manager 7 months is ridiculous and that's not even taking into account the fact that he's managed to win what Chelsea defined as the 'holy grail' the champions league, the fa cup and is currently 3rd in the league after a very solid start. Factor in that Chelsea are now playing some of their most attractive football in years and that makes it an even more bitter pill to swallow.
Chelsea is the blueprint of how not to run a football club!

So he didn't do a good job at Chelsea? Surely that must be the basis if deciding if he is a good manager or not?

His luck ran out.
Lets face it, last nights result could have been any of the big games he has managed in.

Maybe it's all about showing how he easily he can afford to pay off a series of managers.

Morning all,
Egg chaser crossing the boards here, if Di Matteo won the Champions League and FA Cup but still got sacked after a few poor games how long will Benitez stay in place or what does he have to win FFS to keep his job.
