Brothers in the same team
I was thinking the other day about Ben and Tom Youngs playing for Leicester and England. Thinking back, at Club level we've also had Brett and Louis Deacon, Any combination of Tuilagi's (plus Samoa) and Rory and Tony Underwood(also played together for England).
Do you know of any other Clubs who have had so many sets of brothers playing together in one team?

Re: Brothers in the same team
for the scarlets/llanelli rfc we had derek quinell and his 3 sons scott, gavin and craig playing for us.
barry john and his two brothers clive and alan.
barry and brian llewellyn played in the same team that beat the all blacks in 1972.
didn't frank and dominic Setaro both play for llanelli? probably spiderman would know that as they come from his neck of the woods.
simon & guy easterby.
neil & ian boobyer
recently we have the shingler brothers (steve and aaron) and in our academy twin llewellyn & carwyn jones.

Gary and Alan Whetton,
Robbie and Bruce Deans,
Sid, Ken and Brian Going,
Robin and Zinzan Brooke.
and I think (but can't be sure) that Tana Umaga Played for NZ against Mike Umaga (who played for Samoa) in the same test.
The Underwoods Rory and Tony (ENG).
Thom Evans and Max Evans (SCOT)
Delon and Stefan Armitage (ENG)
Guy and Andre Boniface FRANCE)
The Camberbero brothers (FRANCE)
The Calder twins James and Finlay (SCOTLAND)
Gavin and Scott Hastings (SCOTLAND)
Scott and Craig Quinnell (WALES)
The Wallace Brothers Richard, David and Paul (IRELAND) I'm not sure if anyone of them played together (maybe Paul & David) but they are also all Test Lions hich is a pretty farked up statistic and played very different positions, David a back row (7) Paul a prop and Richard a winger. When this was put to David in Oz by a mischeivous journo, he suggested different postmen were responsible

Re: Brothers in the same team
Pioden - I feel a bit bad to say I don't recognise the names at all, and Setaro is a name that would stay in my head if I had heard it.
In the near future it is likely that we will have Torin and Kirby Myhll (I assume their brothers?) in the same squad, but unlikely to be feilded together.
Also looking at family ties, wasn't Barry John brother in-law to Derek, and uncle to Scott & Co? Also Jiffy's brother in law is Phil Davies, and I think they were the same era?

Internationally I think the best ones are the Bachop brothers (Graeme and Stephen), I believe they played together for the All Blacks and then against each other for Japan and Samoa.

Actually, to any of the Munster stato's, did Ultan and Donncha O'Callaghan ever take the field together for Con? Just wondering if maybe Donners has been rerouted to the Munster squad and therefore missed the tail end of Ultan's playig days, and missing lots of Con matches as a result.

The italian greats: Mirco and Mauro Bergamasco played together for Treviso, Stade français and Italy.
There was actually a rumour that Mauro told Stade français he'd only play for them if they signed his younger brother

Re: Brothers in the same team
Someone mentioned the Tuilagis above, just wondering what game featured the most of said family at once? of all 30 players and 14/16 subs. That would be a good quiz question.

Another question would be can you actually name them all? Probably not as easy as you would think.

Re: Brothers in the same team
For Canterbury/Crusaders (as well as the ones above),
Aaron and Nathan Mauger (nephews of Graeme and Stephen Bachop)
Graeme and Chris Jack
George, Sam, Adam and Luke Whitelock
The Hurricanes have Julian & Ardie Savea, the Blues Daniel and Luke Braid and Francis and Peter Salili.
The Waratahs have Sitaleki and Lopeti Timani
And the du Plessis brothers are pretty handy for SA
Andrew and Charlie Hore played together for Otago

Re: Brothers in the same team
spiderman: setaro's played in the early 90's for llanelli, think they are tenby or whitland boys. forgot about the myhill brothers, who are mark perego's nephews. yeah quinnell's and johns are related, when you go to their family gatherings it's like the "who's who" of west walian rugby.
swansea had paul & dick moriarty, steve and andy moore (lock not scrumhalf)

Re: Brothers in the same team
John and Dennis Fogarty have played against eachother for Leinster and Munster respectively. Andrew and Damien Browne play for Connacht/Leinster but have never faced eachother. Guy and Simon Easterby must have been on the same Ireland team or squad at some stage too. LOADS of examples.

Ye, the Fogarty's were a good one as they were both hookers so that was pretty cool when it happened. Rugby must be unique in the context of global sports with how often it has thrown up such examples, especially in the professional era.

So too their father. Over 100 caps between the three of them. Impressive enough!

We've got the same variation in our family
We've got a prop, an 8, a fly half, and then a wing.
