Team of Brothers
Slow Tuesday - was thinking if it would be possible to put together a team composed of brothers.
Have to be currently playing or recently finished
1.John Hayes
2.?
3.Census Johnston
4.Tom Hayes
5.?
6.Micro Bergamasco
7.Mark Easter
8.Nick Easter
9.Lee Dickson
10.?
11.Mauro Bergamasco
12.Tom Arscott
13.Manu Tuilagi
14.Alessana Tuilagi
15. Luke Arscott
Bench
Henry Tuilagi
Tuilagi (the one that played at sale)?
Steffon and Delon Armitage
Tagikackinbau (1 at London Irish and another at Sarries)
Karl Dickson
Tom Johnston
Hon mention. Cockbain brothers (Oz and Welsh)
Tusi Pisi and George Pisi - are they brothers? Both from the recent Samoa win over Oz
Cant think of a hooker, a lock and a stand-off - any ideas?

Re: Team of Brothers
I suppose you could have Steven Shingler as a 10 (Aaron plays 4,5,6 for Scarlets) not the greatest example, then there's Nathan and Aled Brew as well who play Wing

Re: Team of Brothers
Going back a bit, there's the Milne brothers from Scotland
Martin Johnson and his brother (Will?), although given they are 2nd row and back row, probably lose out as a pairing to Robin and Zinzan Brooke
Oh, and Micro Bergomasco might be a bit small for a 6 (or indeed anywhere on a rugby pitch)

Don't forget about the Taits, the Fords andthe Vunipolas.
You could have George Ford at 10 if you are really struggling.

Stephen Bachop and Graeme Bachop for a brother combo at halfback and flyhalf.
Could also get the Whetton brothers in at 5 and 6.

Yeah he is in japan, but could easily have lamont, ndungane, a.tuilagi, either takicaibau in there instead. Would probably plump for alesana to give some power to the back three.

Are all those Whitelocks on professional contracts? I think the Whitelock from the Baby Blacks will go a long way. He's definitely been given the right rugby education (at Loughborough Grammar School in Leicestershire England ).

Re: Team of Brothers
Looking back in time, for NZ there were the Brownlee brothers in the '20s
the Meads and Clarkes 50s/60s
All 3 Goings in the 70s (9,10,15)
the Deans in the 80s
2 generations of Bachops/Maugers in the 90s/naughties (9, 10, 12, 13)
2 Jack brothers in the 90s
Actually, from Canterbury
1) Franks
2)
3) Franks
4) Whitelock/Jack
5) Whitelock/Jack
6) Whitelock
7)
8)
9) Deans/Bachop
10 Bachop
12 Mauger
13 Mauger
14 Whitelock
15 Deans
Stretching a point, Merhtens and Reuben Thorne are brothers-in-law and Merhtens and Mayerhoffler are ex-brothers-in-law
Corey Flynn (hooker) is Aaron Flynn (halfback)'s nephew.

The older 3 all played for the Crusaders this season (Adam was initially in the wider training squad but had secured a starting berth by mid-SXV) I suspect the youngest will be getting some NPC gametime for Canterbury with Thorn and Sam W away at the RWC. Next season the Crusaders will have lost Thorn and possibly Jack so he may make the squad.
Manawatu must be gutted the whole Whitelock family moved to Chch when one of the boys opted to study at the University of Canterbury.
