The Inaugural 606v2 End of Year Awards
First topic message reminder :
So its fast approaching another new year!! I think it would be fun to have an end of year awards ceremony. There are a lot of interesting characters on 606v2 as well as some very informative rugby posters, so plenty of categories to choose from.
Categories
As I think everyone should be involved, I ask now for categories. On the 14/12/12 I'll go through this thread and choose a selection of the most popular categories. I will then post a new thread with all of the categories.
Nominations
Once the categories thread is up I'll ask you all to privately email me your nominations for each category, for which there'll be another cutoff date (22/12/12 @ 5pm). You may nominate yourself for any category if you so wish.
The Award Ceremony
Once all the nominations are in I'll create a thread for each category with the results, saving most important ones for last. These will be posted on the 23/12/12 in the evening some time, probably 9pm.
Sound Good?
So to get the ball rolling here are a few categories...
Thread of the year (So you'd email me the contributor and the title of the thread, ie Bsando - "Thread Title")
Most Amusing Poster (I'm sure we can think of a better name for this, ie The Clown Award or something of that nature)
Most Positive Contributor
Most Passionate Contributor
Post as many as you can think of and state which ones you like the best so I can choose the favs easily
Cut off Date for Categories = 14/12/12

The Royal Pregnancy award – the award for the topic which got the most threads/posts but was barely worthy of one.

Could we do a moment of reflection in the middle of the awards, and run through those posters that have been lost/banned during the year.

The Keith Earls award
For the poster who can be brilliant and terrible in the space of two posts
The Paddy Wallace award
For the poster who gets most grief despite being actually quite sound
The Dan Cole award
Most improved poster
The Ronan O’Gara award
Poster who is always in the “Users browsing this forum” but doesn’t contribute much anymore
The Joe Marler/Adam Jones//Cian Heally/Ally Jacobsen award
For the poster you would most like to have a pint with (why have I chosen all props)?

That's just reminded me of another one.
The Queasy Stalker Award:
The lurking vicious ass poster who can't fathom the concept that his constant trailing of another poster, if it happened in the non-cyber world, would be regarded as serious criminal activity of the nutball kind.

I think it's more to do with their chilled out attitude to a few pints after a game. Usually quite sedate after using up all their energy in scrums. It's the backs who've been twiddling their thumbs who get a bit rowdy after a couple of pints of hydrogen. Props being bigger boned can usually hold their liquor a bit more as well.

Great idea this. Reckon the Mods should pick 10-15 categories then have an open thread for nominations, then a vote. Could become an annual tradition!

I agree with you actually. They don't have a lot to prove off the field that they haven't already proven on it. Yeah, chilled would be a good way to describe them. Adam Jones is certainly a guy who seems really laid back.. so I'd assume he'd be good company- althought to be honest, I wouldn't understand a word he said. He has a Welsh accent I can't really decipher.

Nothing to do with his accent, he just mumbles.
You should have seen the pretty boys hovering around the groupies in the Quinell bar after the match on Saturday, like fighting cocks, whilst both sets of forwards were sat together round a big table chatting away and having pints of squash.
