606v2 Top 15 Year end P4P rankings (please submit VOTES)
It's time to vote for the 606V2 POUND FOR POUND Top 15 rankings.
Rules:
-Only 1 post per 606 member.
-Only active fighters allowed (must of fought in the last 18 months unless officially retired eg Shane Mosley)
-Outlandish listing’s will be DQ.
-A fighter needs two individual votes to have his points included.
Principles:
Your Top 15 should be based as at the current point in time.
Point Scoring System:
Quite simple, #1 scores 15 points, #2 scores 14 points etc… I will tally up the totals by the deadline date and will present the results.
NOTE: PLEASE TRY AND USE FULL NAMES (or correct surnames) & LIST your results.
For reference only, the previous Top 15 606v2 P4P rankings as at 21st July 2012 was:
1 Floyd Mayweather Jr. (1)
2 Manny Pacquiao (2)
3 Juan Manuel Marquez (3)
4 Andre Ward (6)
5 Nonito Donaire (4)
6 Sergio Martinez (5)
7 Wladmir Klitschko (7)
8 Yuriorkis Gamboa (8)
9 Chad Dawson (Re-entry)
10 Carl Froch (19)
11 Timothy Bradley (10)
12 Miguel Cotto (11)
13 Vitali Klitschko (12)
14 Amir Khan (17)
15 Toshiaki Nishioka (14)
Legend: (previous ranking – 8th January
I expect some changes given some recent results and emerging talent in the past 6 months.
Thanks as always, this usually brings up terrific results.

Nice list. Strange to see Pacquiao so low, this could be the first time he's outside the top 2.

Yea I guess it's hard to judge pacquiao but the others I listed are all the top fighters at their respective weights, Donaire 122lbs, Wlad heavy, Mayweather 147/154, Martinez 160, Ward 168 and Marquez holds a win over him
He didn't just get beat on the cards, he got knocked out cold

Last time this was done I was really looking for Roman Gonzalez, Koki Kameda and Kazuto Ioka to press on and earn a place but none have as of yet. That could change on the 20th when Ioka is back in action, he could be really special and I hope he gets a bit more coverage than Ricardo Lopez did down at Minimumweight.
Donaire still top of the tree for me, I'll say it again that he hasn't achieved as much as the others like Mayweather, Marquez or Pacquiao but right now I feel he is a better fighter. I've gone for a few entries like that who are perhaps a bit unproven to some extent in Broner and Rigondeaux but I really do feel these guys are better than some of the more high profile names but the resume isn't there yet.
A few names could very well change around on any given day depending on how I'm feeling and there really isn't much between a lot of them.
Me from back in July, not an awful lot has changed.
Still waiting on the little guys Gonzalez, Ioka and Kameda to really kick on, they have all fought since July but none have done enough to warrant a place on the list yet.
Donaire still sits as top dog for me, he hasn't got the same name recognition as some of the other guys but for me he is just a force of nature right now and right on top of his game (cue spectacular 1st round KO defeat on Saturday) whereas a lot of the modern greats still knocking around are on the slide.
Ward in at number 2, he dealt with Dawson with such ease it was just ridiculous, total mismatches against world champions like that just shouldn't happen but happen it did, looks imperious at Super Middleweight having already dealt with Froch and Kessler with something to spare. Love to see him fight Bute or Dirrell who I think style wise might trouble him more than Froch and Kessler did.
Bit of tinkering elsewhere based on gut feeling and not a lot else, numbers 9 through 15 could all switch around a bit on another day. So glad I can finally put in Robert Guerrero as he's one of my favourite fighters, hope he can get some more recognition this year and avoid the beat down from Floyd which looks set to come his way.

Mine is mainly on achievement, but also partly on perceived ability. I thought Trout's win over Cotto was worth less than Mayweather's because Mayweather moved up and gave away weight versus Cotto, whereas Trout was the naturally bigger mann by far. However the fact that a win over Cotto was enough for Mayweather to retain top spot was enough for him to get in, and enough to make me initially have him a couple of spots higher.

Based on how good I think each individual fighter is, based partly on achievements but mainly on how good they are in my head. Just a bit of common sense I guess.

Not that I put much stock by anything you say - but I would like to point out some issues with your list;
You appear to have Martinez below Bradley. In what world, or universe can you say that Bradley is a better boxer p4p than Martinez? He has a disputed decision against Pacquiao to his name. His only fight in 2012 and his only fight at a new weight. Martinez on the other hand has cleaned out his division, beaten a goliath MW in Chavez Jr (an undefeated champion too) - basically he's the man at his weight. So not only has Bradley not had as productive a year, he isn't the undisputed man at the weight. I don't see your thinking.
Also, Wlad below Bradley? Wlad has been undefeated for the past what 7 years? Undisputed man at the weight - still below your bulb headed friend bradley? Sorry - makes no sense.
Mayweather below him? I don't see how you can have Bradley - not regarded as THE welterweight, above a man who beat a LMW in Cotto and has been THE man at WW for quite some time.
Froch is a SMW title holder, and has fought the best at the weight. He's lost to Ward yes, but he beat Bute convincingly and won another title. You still don't rate him? Fine. But don't have Alvarez and Broner anywhere near him until their CV's check out on the same calibre of opponents.
Think you need checking out my man - like i said, not much stock taken of what you usually say for obvious reasons, but this list screams "I know nothing"
Anyway, my list:
1. Ward
2. Donaire
3. Mayweather

8. Pacquiao

Pacquiao has 2 losses in 2012. Guerrero has gone up 2 weight classes and beaten Andre Berto who not a year ago was considered someone worthy of a shot at Mayweather.
Is this not p4p? I know you don't like me for whatever reason LJ but it'd be easier to admit that than clutching at straws. If this were who would win at what weight then you may have a point, but p4p Guerrero is proving that weight ain't nothing but a number.

What parameters are there for these lists.
Is it a case of who we consider to be the top 15 p4p fighters in the world or who are the top 15 p4p for 2012?
In which case the ratings of Mayweather and Pacquiao become very difficult, as far as the calendar year goes neither deserves a particularly high placing but i'm very uneasy having them below men who have had a better year. Mayweather is still the top boxer on the planet but for the sake of my own sanity will avoid trying to come up with a top 15.

I don't know about everyone else but for me it's best active boxers as they are right now. Which is why Donaire sits top for me instead of Mayweather who has achieved more over the years and at his peak was probably a better fighter than Donaire but right now looks more vulnerable than ever for me and I don't think it's right that he seems untouchable at P4P number 1 fighting once a year against lesser opposition and clearly being in decline.

grow up jab machine. everyones pound for pound list is capable of being scrutinised, after all there is no exact formula for it. i was just interested to see why bradley had been largely overlooked. hes undefeated, was the top fighter at LWW and would be a tough fight for anyone. if you werent interested in my point dont waste a paragraph trying to discredit me, we all know you have been on the defensive for a while now. maybe your special k diet has had an adverse affect on your brain

Most active fighters right now (unless they are deemed retired or have been inactive for a certain period).
Everyone has their own interpretation of the mythical pound for pound status. So I will be accepting majority of lists unless they are borderline insane. My interpretation is who are the best active boxers in the world right now? I.e I wouldn't include Hopkins anymore as I feel he doesn't have the output to be considered a top P4Per. However, I would still have Mayweather (dispite fighting irregularly) as I know everytime he steps in the ring he will deliver.
Thanks to all that have posted so far, interesting to see that no one can agree with each other thus far, hence the need for a majority of vote to determine this outcome.

It is open to your own interpretation, totally agree with this.
It's just difficult to rank Bradley above Pacquiao for example, as I feel Pacquiao dominated Bradley despite operating in the same weight category. In addition to this, I feel Bradley wouldn't be able to get close to Mayweather if they ever did match up. But I think you'll find, many do have him in their top 15s. He usually does come in at around P12 to P10 in most lists.

Tough task, and I am still not convinced with my choices, but here they are. I can't have Guerrero in there, despite his great outing v Berto. I have mixed in those who I feel have achieved already with those I feel would given the chance. I believe Golovkin would beast most if not all at 160 if they would just fight him. I also believe that with their last outings Broner and Trout are proven elite talents. Froch aheadof Kessler on what they have achieved outside of their own fight and on what I think would happen in a rematch between them. Canelo is up there, too, but he has to beat a live dog at 154 first. Beat Lara or Cotto or even Kirkland and then some people will start to believe.

Re: 606v2 Top 15 Year end P4P rankings (please submit VOTES)
I can understand your inclusion of Bradley Lance, he is a great fighter and was THE man at LWW (in 2011 briefly and then sort of avoided Khan) but the fact is he's fought once in 2012, and it was a hotly contested decision against a WW, so in fact he hasn't established himself at the weight. This surely means that Martinez (who has established himself as the man at the weight and fought 2 clear victories) and Wlad (who has spent the last 7 years undefeated as the top dog at HW and won all 3 fights clearly this year) could rank below him.
As I mentioned, interpretation is all fine and dandy, but should I say - put Broner at number 1, surely people would have something to say about it being slightly off?
Yet to see Golovkin fight at a level that suggests he's top 15 for 2012 - Geale has a shout though for his outing against Sturm in his own backyard.
