Does anyone have any more news on why John Murray failed his medical in the lead up to the Gavin Rees fight?

Think it was because of the pasting Rios gave him, not sure what exactly but his face was so busted up I wouldn't be surprised if he broke some bones in it.

Did he not incur another injury in sparring related to the Rios battering? It's a shame to see as he was a real warrior that night. It's a pity he doesn't have the quite the skill set to back up his never say die attitude.

couldn't have put it better. Hope he is ok, but perhaps an injury that ends his career but not his general well being is bettter than something potentially more serious down the line.

Agreed Sean. He's had has day building up to world level and just wasn't quiet good enough. It would be a horrible shame if he were to end up losing badly to domestic fighters that a couple of years ago he would have dealt with easily. Seems a good guy too. I've had a bit of banter with him on Twitter. Hears to him finding a successful career outside of the ring if this is the end

Just fell a bit short, seemed to fight like a puncher a bit without having any real power which let him down at the higher level. He should have been pulled out a bit earlier against Rios and he was too brave for his own good that night.
